      This company is deceitful. I signed up to get a babysitter for one occasion. I didn't realize it was going to keep billing me monthly. I just found out after months and months that I've been paying them for my account. They sent me ZERO payment receipts, confirmations, or reminders via email, phone or mail, so they are purposefully trying to be sneaky and not make people aware that they're paying. They also are making it difficult for me to cancel my account. I had to reset my password, and when I try to log in with the new password, it says "Login failed, try again." It's incredibly frustrating and sketchy. I can't believe they have an A+ rating on BBB with all the negative reviews. Please lower the rating so more people don't get scammed by this website - which is, by the way, used by parents and caregivers who are desperate to find childcare and are therefore in a vulnerable position when they sign up for it and unknowingly get locked in to paying exorbitant amounts for a service they aren't even using.

      ****,Thanks for reaching out and I do apologize for the experience. At this time Sittercity does not send invoices renewal reminders - however we are in legal compliance with all state regulations regarding subscription renewals.It is stated twice before you register that all subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel - this is also stated in the receipt you receive upon purchase. There is no fine print, it is quite clear language on both upgrade pages as well as the receipt in your email.It looks like you did reach out to our Customer Success team who was not able to find the account under the email you wrote in with; it looks like your subscription was under a different email. We cannot locate or cancel an account without proper verification of the email used and payment on file. Your account was cancelled this morning and a refund was issued.You are absolutely able to cancel your subscription at any time in your own account settings, or by reaching out to our CS team via email, chat, or phone. We answer all emails within 1 business day.Please let us know if you have any other questions.

      THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT EVEN AFTER YOU'VE DEACTIVATED OR CANCLED YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. IF I COULD LEAVE A NEGATIVE STAR I WOULD IM SOOOOOO OVER THIS . DO NOT ENROLL UNLESSS YOU WANT TO BE CHARGED FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. THEY POURPOSELY MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO REACH A SOLUTION SO THEY CAN STEAL YOUR MONEY I WANT MY MONEY BACK !!!!!!!!!!

      Hi ****,Thanks for reaching out and I do apologize for the experience.It looks like you did reach out to our Customer Success team a few times yesterday via chat. At that time we did cancel your subscription and issue you 2 refunds for the last 2 months of service. This is above and beyond our no refund policy.According to your account activity, you accessed your subscription settings but didn't cancel your subscription. When you do cancel your subscription, a system-generated confirmation email is sent from our billing processor. Our records indicate you didn't cancel your subscription and did not receive a confirmation email. If you do have a record of this, please let us know and we can look into it further.Let us know if you have any questions.

      This company is a scam. They charge everyone to post a job as well as to read replies to that post. After answering at least 40 postings, I had ONE reply. There's no way more people didn't answer me if they actually needed a babysitter. Then when I reported this person for standing me up for the meeting, my account was suddenly deleted by Sittercity. Their excuse was " some obscure policy". No real reason. Don't waste your time. Their star rating is like 2.I personally believe it's all a scam to bilk people out of money.

We do not charge parents to post a job or read replies. It is up to parents on Sittercity to respond to sitters who apply to their job, and we encourage them to reach out even if they are no longer looking or the position has been filled. Unfortunately we cannot control their response rate. A sitter can be removed from our site for one of three reasons. We've already shared this with you.       This site is absolutely horrible. I paid for a premium subscription to be able to interview ******. After having three nannies not show up for interviews I called the company to request the account be closed and the membership fees refunded. I spoke to two representatives from the company, ******** and ******************, both representatives told me that under no circumstances does the company offer refunds and one person, ******************, threatened to hang up on me instead of hearing my concerns. I am so disappointed in the service and company, especially as a parent that is already stressed about trying to dont care for their children.

Please know that Sittercity is not an agency, but an online platform connecting parents/families with caregivers. ******** did also explain this as well in your call with her. I listened to the phone call and she did hear and address your concerns. We have millions of sitters who use the site - we do authenticate identities of sitters, and give the option to run background checks prior to hiring, however as also noted in your call - the sitters are not our employees. It is up to the sitters to be responsive and timely in their responses - the same goes for parents who are looking for a sitter.Please know that our Customer Success team is here to help you navigate Sittercity and talk through best practices for how to use the site. Requesting to interview sitters, and communication with sitters who apply to your job is something our team can definitely help you with.Like any service, we do not provide refunds after a service has been rendered. The Premium membership allows you to communicate with sitters, share contact information, and communicate off the site. From your activity, we can see you did use your Premium membership as you did message sitters on the site and exchange contact information.       I am a parent who tried the service and paid at the beginning for a full year. I genuinely believed that I had cancelled when I realized that sitters were always unavailable. Literally today when my card was charged again $144 for a full year, I tried to cancel. Their website makes it impossible to delete your account or to change your information. I have moved states, I don't need the service, and I want to remove my credit card. I have read all their articles about how there are zero refunds and I am on DAY ONE of a new year where I do not want their service and would like to remove my information. I have emailed to ask how this is an appropriate business model when parents who have to budget are your customers. I cannot in good conscience recommend such a service to parents who have to manage their money--or protect their information!! This is a horrid and disrespectful structure for a website that wants to engage parents--or anyone. Anyone should be able to delete their personal and financial information.

      Hello i just started using sitter city since my sister who ****** for it told me wonderful things i recently made a account one or two months ago and already sat for two families more then two times for both families And they both gave me both five stars and said wonderful things about me and my babysitting i recently had to remove my account because of a mother who got mad because i wouldn't nanny for her after really thinking about it after learning that she fired over a dozen nannys less a week of them working for her thats when i realized she was a problem the nannys were ! I messaged her hours before are first appointment well meeting that i wasnt interested in being a nanny for her since i really gave it a long thought so she got really angry and gave me one star for not wanting to work for her i never knew someone you never sat for or meet can do that and try to ruin your character that you work so hard to build through dedication and time . This mom wasnt clearly ready for someone to watch her child and she clearly stated that and agreed with me before i told her i didnt want to work for her she literally fired over ten nannys that didnt even work for her longer then a week maybe five days tops why would i work for someone knowing i could be fired in a matter of seconds for no apparent reason ? I loved sitter city and told so many nannys about it and babysitters only for the website to allow someone to give me one star that i never even nannyed or babysat for and i couldnt even respond to her review since there is two sides to every story and hers were lies and pure bitterness

      This is my experience. I hope yours is different. When I researched online I happened upon SitterCity. I was excited to sign up and looking forward to having someone reliable babysit my 5-year-old son. There were a number of sitters with 4 or 5 out of 5 stars. I signed up and commenced to reaching out to them. Every single one replied to my message letting me know they were already working with other families. Those that reached out to me after this had no stars and no reviews. I contacted SitterCity to request a refund as the site, I feel, entices parents with pictures of sitters with high reviews but, when contacted, no availability. I do not feel comfortable allowing someone into my home to watch my child without others sharing their experience with them. One way to help parents is to add a tab so that if the sitter is already committed to another family this will be known before even reaching out to them. When I reached out to SitterCity she said since I had contacted the sitters I could not receive a refund. How would I know they were unavailable unless I contacted them? The representative also said background checks are available for all since I was concerned about those with no reviews entering my home and caring for my child. There are 600 people where I work. All of us had to pass a background check, but over the years a number of them have been terminated for stealing, fighting, etc. Since I was told a refund is not possible, I will consider this a $156 donation to SitterCity. I do apologize for the experience.Please keep in mind that Sittercity is not an agency, but an online platform connecting parents and caregivers. You do not have to upgrade to use the site right away - as a Basic parent you are able to post a job, receive applicants, and view sitter profiles. You can also search for sitters who are the most active on the site. Sitters on the site can only receive reviews from Sittercity parents - this doesn't mean they don't have reviews from other families or references. We understand reviews are a huge part of selecting sitters, and are working on ways to ensure active sitters have up-to-date and relevant reviews on their profiles from other families.We also encourage all sitters to be as up-to-date with their availability as possible, and to close their profile if they are no longer looking for positions. I can understand this would be frustrating to not know who is available and who is not.Because we are not an agency, and the sitters are not our employees, we don't background check every sitter who joins the site. We do verify their identity. We have several articles about this process as well as a ************** center, and a dedicated ************** team who are able to assist at any time for these types of inquiries. All of this information is available up front before you upgrade - we also have a wonderful Customer Success team who is available by email, chat, and phone. We answer all emails within 1 business day. We are happy to discuss how to best use the site, and how to find available caregivers. You are able to cancel at any time in your own account settings, or by reaching out to the Customer Success team via email, chat, or phone. All emails are answered within 1 business day. I don't see any communication from this email address. The account under the email indicated does NOT have a current active subscription. I highly recommend contacting the Customer Success team at ********************************** so they can locate the account and cancel this for you.

      I had an account with Sittercity years ago with no success. I thought I would try again and bought a subscription. I gave a credit card and was billed. A week later the company charged my old credit card and gave a receipt from the date of the second billing on the internal receipt . They were basically trying to steal money. The photos of sitters i received were two of women laying down. It appears they were looking for dates more than a babysitting jobs. One woman was sticking her tongue out. The photos suggest something other than babysitting. Three phone numbers i were given that did not go through as working phone numbers. Someone needs to look into this company.

You created an account with a typo in your email address, and we cancelled and refunded that account in full. We do not create accounts for parents. We cancelled and refunded this payment immediately. It looks like our billing processor defaulted to your previous credit card on file and billed the old card when you resubscribed to the Premium Membership. We sincerely apologize for the experience and for any frustration. Unfortunately, because you have disputed this charge with your bank, it is now up to them to determine if you are eligible for any refunds for the subscription charge.We are sorry for any discomfort you feel with certain profile photos. Our ************** team reviews all profile photos before they go live on the site for the safety of our platform, and sitters are welcome to use the profile photo of their choice as long as it meets our photo guidelines. We recommend bypassing these profiles or discontinuing communication if you do not feel comfortable with a sitter's photo.All sitters who exchange their contact information do so at their own free will. It is also up to them to answer any calls or texts from parents they exchange contact information with. I apologize that you cannot get in touch with these specific sitters.       I agree with previous posters, regarding sitters having the ability to review prospective jobs. If we, as sitters, get reviewsthen why cant sitters review parents? I believe this is why many creditable sitters and nannies avoid this platform. There are many examples of time wasted and outstanding payment owed. I stopped using this platform, I have found an amazing job with a great family. It would also be beneficial to the family, if sitters could make high recommendations as well. If I couldnt continue with a position, for whatever reason, it would be helpful to give other prospective employees the opportunity to work with an amazing family! Please take these points into consideration. Take care
