Concerning issues I've experienced during my recent educational journey with Chamberlain University, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I decided to move toward change and get involved in the psychiatric field to help more individuals with mental health issues, as I felt this was and is where I needed to be. As a nurse practitioner, I hold high standards for the quality of care and services provided by medical institutions, providers, educators, and others. Unfortunately, my experience at Chamberlain University did not meet these expectations. Firstly, I am deeply disappointed by the unresponsiveness and incompetency displayed by the *** team. I found it extremely challenging to communicate and collaborate with the team, which significantly hindered the efficiency of my education, creating undue stress. As a healthcare professional, I understand the importance of effective communication and teamwork, and it is disheartening to encounter such a lack of professionalism. Furthermore, I was dismayed by the mishandling of my case with healthcare compliance and the *** team with Chamberlain University. As an educational institution, it is crucial to create a safe, helpful, and empowering environment for students. My experience with this process was subpar and raised concerns about the overall competence and diligence of the staff. I hope that my feedback will prompt a thorough evaluation of the practices and processes at Chamberlain University. - *************************

I had the worst experience with Chamberlain University and I was only a student for 2 days. Be careful, Chamberlain will nickel-and-dime you for everything! I was admitted on January 12, ****. The day after my admissions I decided to drop/withdraw my enrollment for a multiple of reasons. I emailed my academic advisor to request this. Because I was a late enrollment I couldn't do this myself. On record, my last log-in to 1 online class was January 13, **** (a day later). Four days later, I finally get an email from an academic advisor. She said I would be charged a fee because this counted as an attendance even though I have not set foot on their campus. Most colleges will allow a student 1 week to drop/withdraw from class with a full refund or no charge. Chamberlain will charge you for simply logging in. I find out that I was also charged $220 fee for a ******* Services fee. I was a student for 1 day, not even an entire semester or year. I deserve leniency. Also, I was charged for Fingerprint Drug and Background Check fee of $200 even after I have fully withdrawn. I shouldn't be getting charged. I did not do any pretesting or screening. Why is Chamberlain or its affiliates still getting paid for services that were not done? I later get a text message saying that my drug screening was completed. This is inaccurate and is fraudulent! I now have a balance of $566 of unfair and unexplained charges which will become delinquent because I have no way of paying this. My husband is a disabled Army Veteran, and I resigned from my job to attend school full-time. I've spoken to academic advising, financial advising, and filed a complaint with student services to ask for leniency on the charges. No one has done anything. There is so little support and so much inconsistency at Chamberlain. You speak to 10 different people and you get 10 different answers. I've read bad reviews on Chamberlain, and now I get to experience it first hand. Such a bad experience!

For ten months of my life, I was the patient of a nurse practitioner who happened to be a graduate of this school's master's degree program. Her mismanagement of my health set me back seven years with my disease state and has left me so traumatized that I wonder if I will ever be able to trust another medical practitioner again. If I could leave no stars I would.

Chamberlain University has had no interactions with this consumer, and while this consumer's complaint is unfortunate, the consumer should file her review with the medical practitioner.

Msn NP programs charge you for advanced physical assessment course, then makes you pay to attend a required immersion weekend for said course. They do not provide assistance with practicum placement, even if they "place" you with someone who is unresponsive to emails. Some of the program specific courses do not have tutors, and there is not set lectures to help you learn the required materials only modules which are self paced and may not contain information on the exams. I am an AGPC-NP student.

      Chamberlain University Response

      09/12/2023

Thank you for your feedback. The immersion requirement for advanced health assessment is designed to prepare students for their first practicum experience. During immersion, students have the opportunity to practice proper techniques nurse practitioners use in the clinical setting for a variety of medical complaints. Regarding the courses, not all courses have tutors and we do not have live lectures since the format is asynchronous. In the past we had recorded lectures and students did not like that learning format; therefore, all courses have been redesigned to provide the content through a variety of interactive activities. Each weekly module has four sections: prepare, explore (where the content is provided), translate to practice (the assignments or interactive activity) designed for students to apply the content learned in the Explore section, and then the reflection. We also have the academic success coaches available for additional support which can be accessed through the ** Caf offered every session. Thanks, ** Team

We pay so much money for this school and the *** department has NO urgency to process applications. I have classmates sitting semesters out because the school waited until the very last minute to reject the sites. There is a true abuse of power happening. My last preceptor said he will likely not take chamberlain students again because he was so bothered but how *** treats chamberlain students. He precepts Med students too and said hes never seen a school so poorly invested in the success of its students. The *** LIES to potential students and claims they will help you find sites!!!! I feel so robbed of time and energy and this has been an uphill battle the entire way with no support. The AGPCNP program is beyond underserved. We have NO tutors or peer reviews. Those services are EXCLUSIVELY for the *** program. We pay the same tuition as the *** students and receive 1/4 the support and resources. Its disgusting and disgraceful!

Run away from this school! They are horrible for their FNP program. You have to find your own preceptors and ELC is a joke. You don't get registered for classes on time. They mess up your financial aid. There is no consistency between professors. Countless emails and phone calls and no resolutions. Have had to file grievances to get registered for class. Preview week comes and still not registered for your next class. Worst experience of my life with a school. Do not recommend!

The sad thing about this review is I enjoyed the professors and the school up until this point. I have been waiting for practicum clearance for 4 months now. I was supposed to be in the March Clinical classes and when that didnt go as planned I was not concerned with the lack of results from the *** department with my practicum application. Now its been 4 months and the results are still negative. My MSW clinical site for clinical is my employer and a hospital. ******** have not been up to date on any of my site requirements, my site requires a platform called ******* and we didnt find out this information until a two weeks before class and this information came from my site supervisor who was aware of the process. Chamberlain was not aware of everything that was required from this platform a lot of information that was needed I am exempt from because I am employed there. Still Chamberlain has me jumping through hoops to supposedly get me registered. I have got vaccinated twice, blood drawn for titers, and paid for this ******* program. I was told if I could get a letter from my site /employer stating my vaccination record is current I could proceed with registration today. The day has ended and still no resolve keep in mind I am already a week behind schedule and I was told I would definitely be registered by September. I have paid this school of $20k and do not feel as though they care about my time or money being spent. I will be 6 months past graduation and my loans are in jeopardy of withdrawals from not being in school. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with Chamberlain University *** department and University .

This school was only good to me when I was going for my bachelor's. After that when it came time for my MSN practicum time they gave me a hard time. They made promises of many sites to complete practicum, however no avail and kept hitting a brick wall. I have been trying for almost a year to find a site across 3 states and nothing. I reach out to them numerous times for help and they barely help and give me false information. Then they dare to tell me oh well because it has been about a year since your last class you need to take and pass a test before you can start at a site if you find one. If you fail test, gave no prep information to prep for test, then you have to retake a class at your expense and at your expense repeat the event in *******. I ask other schools about if I transfer what to do and if they help their students or have sites lined up for practicum. Those other schools have informed me they help student find sites and they already have sites lined up and contracted. Those other schools also told me that if I transfer that because of how far into program I am and their policy only 23 credits would transfer out of all I have and I would have to repeat 3 or more classes before I can get to their practicum part. Chamberlain University lied and roped me in to bridge program falsely, breaching contract and is costing me thousands of dollars and decreasing my credit score. If they didn't s**** up my livelihood and my academic career I would have graduated in December 2022 and be working as an Adult ****************** Care Nurse Practitioner.

Chamberlain is a partner school with my employer, which prompted me to attend as there was a discount in tuition for me. I began the AGPCNP program the day my Mother passed away. I maintained a good GPA despite the intense challenges of working full-time in the **** losing two parents, and experiencing PTSD. The program was great for the 1st two years. It was manageable, I got support when needed, and the instructors were excellent. However, when my practicum began at the beginning of this year, I was lost, without any support, follow-up, or timeliness in processing my practicum application. We are required to find our preceptors. As a busy professional, this adds to the commitments we have in life through making contact with professionals, following up, and establishing relationships with those we can learn from. Essentially, we are doing 50% of the work for ELC. Yet, ELC provides no responsibility, sense of urgency, or organization. There seems to be no formal process that keeps the process moving so we can begin our courses ON TIME. I have missed an entire term, and now it looks like I will again due to their lack of support. I have been given misinformation, and conflicting information multiple times, which places the professionals and organizations I am required to learn from in a position where Chamberlain seems unprofessional and disorganized. Perhaps fewer professionals will become more weary of or refuse to precept Chamberlain Students, which may lead to some change in their process. With only 3 courses to complete, I am at their mercy. And this should not be something anyone experiences at this level of higher education. Nurses give so much to support and care for the community and want nothing more than to be able to provide this on higher levels. How and why is this happening to us? We sacrificed our safety, security, and health to serve our patients through a pandemic, and this is how we are treated.

Warning! If you are not good at math, struggle learning, are not good at technology, or an older age. This school is not for you. It can be costly if you fail. They say they can help with tutors, but there is no time with all the work load. Not easy to retain. Each class per week has 9 to 10 modules. Most of the questions are difficult to answer because they aren't in the literature. If you get it wrong you are graded on a point system. Very easy to fail. It would helpful if they give you an idea at the beginning on a step by step whats to expected before you enroll, so that the first week is not so brutal and you are aware on the time that the assignment needs to be completed. There is so much to do that it is almost impossible to get in and easy to fail on the first week that reflects om your overall grade. Very stressful. No time to work or be a mom or dad. I wasn't thinking it would be easy, but it is almost impossible to be successful at this school.
