An order was placed for ********************* on January 14, 2021, for a SlingStudio GearClubDirect pack. The order was placed by our secretary, **************************. We were notified that the items were on backorder. After several follow up phone calls over the course of several months, Gear Club Direct shipped just the SlingStudio device and an after-market power supply. They agreed to refund $649 of the purchase since they were not able to get the batteries that were part of the pack. The items arrived in the Summer of 2022. The item that was shipped was used. They were contacted and we were told that the item could not be returned and that they had told our secretary that it was an "open box" item. It was not "open box!" There was no box; the whole unit was wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a brown box. There was not the original power supply or any literature, warranty info, etc. Now, four months later, they have not issued the refund of $649. They have been contacted multiple times and on two occasions *************************** (sp?) has stated that the check has been mailed. No check has been received. When we try to call now, we are told that she is not in the office.Initial Complaint

The company in question, provides an add that you can receive a super bright flashlight for an amazing price, plus shipping and handling. Nowhere in their ad do they indicate that you will then be charged a monthly "club" fee. I learned after I canceled debit due to it being compromised in separate event, I as being charged this monthly fee, which at this point was close to $400.00. I contacted the company stating I had no recollection of signing up for this service and after a string of emails, one of their last was a comment, by their own comment that "We sent out an email every month advising about the membership and sometimes the emails go to spam."Business response

Customer has confused ********************** DJ with ************* **************** (https://************.com), we do not sell flashlights nor do we offer memberships. We have not received complaints from this customer before, and if we did we could had guided to the appropriate company.
