I previously completed two rounds of fertility treatments. I was sold expensive specialty fertility drugs from 7/7/2019 to 10/16/2019 for these two rounds of treatments at Braun pharmacy totally $7,769.93 and paid out of pocket. Before purchasing these medications, the owner, *******************, explicitly articulated to me in writing that he checked my coverage that I had no insurance coverage for these drugs. I have attached this email of him stating this. This would mean that I would have to pay out-of-pocket and I paid the pharmacy for these, putting $7,769.93 on my credit card. The information that he gave was incorrect and I had almost full coverage if I had gone to an in-network pharmacy. In fact, I only paid $174.15 for the total cost of the drugs for my third round at Freedom Pharmacy which is in-network. I froze my eggs because I am desperate to preserve my fertility to have a baby and I believe the owner capitalized on this by telling me that I had no coverage at all, so that I would purchase these expensive drugs from Braun and not gone to another pharmacy which would have been covered. I have gone back and forth with the insurance company for over a year submitting claims many, many times trying to get reimbursed but they refuse to do so because I was sold drugs at an out-of-network pharmacy. This error cost me an additional $7,421.63 than what I would have paid had I gone to an in-network pharmacy. I am very unhappy as this is a significant amount of money. I would like to be reimbursed for what I overspent by going to Braun because of his error. This would be $7,421.63 for the two rounds. This is what I paid at Braun less the amount I would have paid at the in-network pharmacy, *****************, which would have been $348.30 for the two rounds.
