I made an appointment on Friday as a new patient to work with a psychiatrist ****************. the appointment was set for Tuesday afternoon 3 pm. I received conformations with a new intake form that had to be submitted 48hours prior to the appointment on Friday evening. I decided to fill it & send it out later today(Saturday) but not even 24hours after I made the appointment, I receive a text saying my appointment has been cancelled bec I did not send the intake forms, this was really upsetting as this is 72 hours before my appointment and not 48hours as previously mentioned AS PER THEIR policy. I was extremely distressed and desperate to keep my appointment. As anyone that's taking this first step knows how anxious it can feel. I called the office and was put on hold. ******, the receptionist is the most apathetic human ever. I was clearly frantic on the phone about my appointment being cancelled bec I NEED to see someone, I mentioned what happened and told them I was about to send my intake forms today (Saturday) which is 72 hours prior, she said "sorry ma'am its cancelled" and in the most condescending tone "ma'am, ma'am, this is our policy" and "if I keep your spot and you don't send over the forms you'll be charged $150 for cancellation" Well your policy and email sates 48 hours Saturday is 72hours away from Tuesday. They didn't even send a courtesy call or email or text, they just canceled the appointment. I was so distressed. I get all you care about is your money and treating patients like a dollar bag. this is a mental health clinic, she was so rude and didn't care about how a cancelation would affect a mental health client. clearly ****** cares only about policy and not patients. I HOPE the doctors see this because ****** is the face of your business, its our first interaction with a mental health clinic and she needs to be retrained or fired because she is not equipped to be interacting with human beings let alone a distressed mental health patient.
