DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY Our experience with Next Level Construction for our basement remodel has been a never-ending nightmare. It's been two years since they worked on our basement, and it's falling apart before our eyes. We cannot emphasize enough how incredibly dissatisfied we are with the subpar quality of their work. The issues we've encountered include:Bathroom Tile Disaster: They tiled the bathroom directly on drywall! nothing was waterproof. The bathroom tile they installed has pulled up and is now in such disrepair that it needs to be entirely redone because of water damage. It's an unacceptable flaw for such a recent renovation.Failing Flooring: The flooring throughout our basement is also falling apart in various areas. The shoddy workmanship is painfully evident.Corner Cutting: It's clear that Next Level Construction took shortcuts and cut corners throughout the project. The overall quality of their work does not justify the substantial amount we paid for their services. We strongly caution anyone considering hiring Next Level Construction for their home improvement project. Our experience with them has been a costly and frustrating ordeal. Please learn from our mistakes and avoid this company at all costs.Next Level Construction, Inc. Response

This job was done almost 3 years ago and this is the first we have heard about your concerns. This past summer ******* area experienced historic flooding where the city turned off sewers and many basements were damaged severely. We are truly sorry this happened . Please contact us if there is anything we can do to help out.Review from Kevin J

We hired Next Level to renovate our basement. They provided poor project management, resulting in significant extra expenses, delays, and frustration. In the worst example, they submitted inaccurate blueprints to the city with their permit application, causing us to fail our inspection. Getting the project in line with the approved permit required $6k of extra work or waiting months for the city to approve new plans while we had large holes and piles of dirt in our basement. Our project manager blamed the city for the failed inspection, and we had to discover for ourselves that the reason this inspection failed was the inaccurate blueprints. When confronted about this, our project manager acknowledged the plans were inaccurate but still blamed the city for the failed inspection, saying that some inspectors might not follow the submitted plans when performing an inspection. Other examples of poor project management were a lack of coordination between the subcontractors, resulting in one subcontractor not knowing if another would perform certain duties or finishing repairs started from another subcontractor. These issues should have been resolved of by an active project manager, however ours was almost never on site. I once asked why he hadn’t been at our house for over four weeks, and his response was “Why would I go there? What would you have me do?” Even after that conversation he was rarely on site and never performed a final walkthrough to examine the final work, which had visual flaws. We decided it was easier to perform repairs to Next Level's work ourselves rather than bring them back to repair things such as drywall and paint. These are only a few examples of why hiring Next Level was a bad experience. Unless a check was due, we were largely ignored by our project manager, who did not seem to care about our project. I wish we had gone with a company that took more pride in their work and provided better project management and customer service.Next Level Construction, Inc. Response

Reply to **** Sorry you felt this way at the end of the project. For what I read, your complaint includes about the project manager not being enough onsite, is that correct? Weve been always available via email, text and calls. We know it can be frustrating when changes are demanded by *************** at an inspection after work begins, but those changes are conditions we cant preview before we start the work. we did what they ask and we passed all the inspections. Please let us know what we can do to address your concerns.Next Level Construction, Inc. We hired Next Level Construction in 2020 to pour a cement patio, sidewalk and build a back porch. We were impressed with the workmanship and results. We called **** in June, 2022 about a gut rehab of our ******* Bungalow kitchen, originally built in ****. All phases of the project went smoothly: design, demolition, carpentry, floor tile, countertops, appliance installation, plumbing and electricity. Each team of workmen were professional, skilled and considerate. We felt respected and confident that we were getting their best work. We had access to **** and his project manager ***** throughout. They responded quickly to our every question. We knew Next Level would do a good job but our expectations were exceeded on every level. I would highly recommend Next Level for exterior or interior work, ************** is great and the workers are terrific!
