My catalytic converter was stolen from my 2004 Pontiac Sunfire sometime between approximately 04/04/2024 7:00pm until I realized it approximately 6:40am of 04/05/2024 and then I called the police, and filed a report. When my Allstate claim was finally made they told me it was illegal to drive without it, and it needed to be towed. My car was towed finally on Monday 04/08/2024 ~ 10:00pm it was the third co. that Allstate sent. I was given the phone number and contact info from Allstate: National Recovery & Towing Contact: *************************** ************** Then I was given the tow truck driver phone number: **************. The driver came in a red pick up truck with a female passenger. I asked if that was really a two truck and he proceeded to pull down the tailgate and then have a robotic U-beam bar fold down, and then he had me move my car out of my spot towards it. I was parked by the *********************** Health Halsted which has multiple cameras pointed on my car and that interaction. I gave him my keys and he drove away without hooking up my car to any lights or anything so I took photos and sent to my Allstate agent because I believed the process was not right. Come to find out that National Recovery & Towing is not licensed but Allstate hired them anyways and the guy that took my keys apparently put a didnt set of keys under my floor mat and left my car at B&M collision. B&M collision is who alerted me to the incorrect keys and unlicensed. My keys that I gave him have a very unique Yellow Submarine key chain that my friend gave to me, and she has passed away and that is my keepsake of her and it is priceless! The keys that he apparently gave them were generic and didnt fit? I tried calling him and the tow truck company but no response. Im afraid that he will come and steal my car now that it is fixed because he knows where I live. I have concerns about the tow truck company because they share the same address with another tow company called ******* Towing Service.
