On 11/15 their system was having issues accepting payments. The first two payments I made said they didnt go through and the last one did go through. The next day there were three payments pending. I called in 11/16 and was told that my extra pending payments would not go through and they would be refunded. They were not. I called on 11/18 asking to get my refund and since I was making a payment via my sister in laws account they would not talk to me. I just wanted to know when I would get a refund. This was a lot of money and it was the last payment. Now it shows paid but the payment history does not show the two extra payments. I need this money and they have not cooperated and will not give me any information.Initial Complaint

Bright Spark Travel took an unauthorized payment out of my account in the amount of $90 . They unilaterally on their side enrolled me in auto payment which I did not approve them to do - this put me in financial distress and I was not able to purchase groceries for my family. I expressed this to Bright Spark and they ensured the funds would be immediately refunded and put back into my account the same day. The fund have not been returned and this has still caused me financial hardship.Initial Complaint

Back in March 2022, I registered my daughter, *************************, for her school's ************* trip. I purchased the insurance in case she needed to cancel the trip. Since that time, from my records, I have paid a total of $1209.00 for the trip. A couple of weeks ago, I needed to cancel the trip, called the company to do thayt and ask for a refund. Now, when I try to check my online account, they have deleted my account. I have not yet received a refund. I called them again a few days ago and was told that I wouldn't receive a refund for **** weeks, which is completely unacceptable. I have also emailed the company, but have not heard back from them. My daughter is *************************, October 9, 2008, and her school is ********************** in **********. I do not have my account info or trip ID since ********************** deleted my account.Initial Complaint

I booked a trip for my ************* through school which uses this company. I took the insurance refund just in case I needed to cancel the trip I would get my money back. November 2021 i canceled the trip, was told I had to wait ***** weeks for my refund. I was patient even though I thought that was absurd. Fast forward to week 11 & still no refund. I called sat on hold for an hour then was told I would have my refund deposited in my account 2/4/22 by a man named ******. I asked to speak to a supervisor but one could not be found. Now 2/4/22 there is no deposit in my account, I called again & got a ****** who says my bank declined the deposit so theyre mailing a check. I asked for a supervisor again sat on hold for 40 minutes & yet no supervisor available. Supposedly my check was mailed today. We will see if I receive a check in the mail this coming week.Initial Complaint

My daughters school had a 8th grade graduating trip to ************* which was postponed due to Covid. I purchased the trip protection. The school told me that if for any reason at all she cannot go to the trip I would be refunded everything I paid except for the amount that I paid for the travel insurance. Since my daughter no longer goes to the school I contacted brightspark months ago and was told I would get my full refund returned to the original method of payment by the end of December. I paid $784. I was only refunded $176. I then called the company after sitting on hold for almost 2 hours I was told by the agent that the remaining balance had been sent by check and it was mailed that day that I was calling which was early January. I know for a fact that mail does not take weeks to come. I still havent got this check they claim to have mailed. When I googled the company I see nothing but the same complaints. This company is a huge scam and I only paid because I was under the assumption the school made sure this was a legit company! Someone at the school should be liable for this if they hired a scam company! It has been so long that I can no longer dispute the payments with my bank. I would like a full and complete refund. I have sent multiple emails to this company most of which have been returned saying that the email address is invalid when it is the same email address that I used previously when I first signed up for this. This company is shady. I am still owed $520Initial Complaint

I was recently provided with a letter on November 14th regarding Brightspark's COVID protocols. Given the specifications provided in the letter, our family will no longer be able to take this trip. Had we been provided with this letter initially we would have never agreed to participate. We purchased the *** (refund guarantee protection) for both my daughter and myself. I have paid $2,534. The tour code is TBJ3XPG. I have not been able to get in contact with this company through email or phone. I have tried multiple times now. I want a refund of my money.Initial Complaint

I requested a refund of $321 in September of 2021. I was told their policy was to process the refund within 12 weeks **** Today marks the last day of the twelfth week. No refund. Ive called and emailed with no response. When I do call they tell me my refund is now delayed to possibly next week. They did not call me or email me letting me know. They have broken their own policy in doing so. I was told by a supervisor back in October that it would be refunded on or before December 1st 2021 because that was the *** date of their own policy.
