I contracted a construction general contractor, No Limit Builders, to build a new driveway The owner of the company is No limit builders He requested that I pay a $350 deposit via Zelle. I spent the deposit for them to begin work, but the owner of the company never showed back up.

Customer needed permitting for the work to be done . Initially she said no , we showed up and she was not home the day we were set to begin , I recommend getting permits to be safe from any violations which she agreed , I did not charge her to file any paperwork or submit any permits but at that point we did request 60% deposit so that when the permits were approved I would have all material ready to go . I filed and spent 450 plus 50 $ ($500) permit fee and 350$ registration fee . She send me 200$ hours after I submitted and requested her to pay her permits . More work was added which meant more material and labor , along with permit fees and registration costs we still did not raise our price which was quite fair . After not receiving full deposit for material and paperwork I invested my own money , upon chequing the new area of work that was added and the unexpected fees we were not even close to enough for material and labor , she refused to understand that we helped her out with personal money just to get her project going , did not cooperate with her payments , so I was forced to cancel until we resolved the payment issue which I offered to only charge for the extra material not the labor , or the permits . So she went all over the media and our pages saying we ran away and took 1000$ then $3000 when she sent 200$ only , hours after I asked so I had to pay everything to be submitted . She has harassed me and my employees on various platforms demanding thousands of dollars , we invested in her project and she terminated the agreement for her convenience. The project was for 3,700$ . With all the trips she made me take and fees I payed along with with time I spent we could no longer carry on with her . I filed a mechanics lein with proof so that our losses may hopefully be recuperated and our reputation does not suffer with future clients

I am rejecting this response because:

He is completely lying he never wanted to pull a permit , i insisted to get the permit, he showed up several times to get the deposit money I have camera footages, secondly I asked him to send me a formal proposal , what he sent was an invoice with and in the his business address, he has address for ************* station (3) when I asked him that his company doesn't seem like he has experience in Asphalt , he lied again and sent me information of his "LATE Friends" company's listing which when I called number was disconnected, also he made me to Zelle him $200 and got cash from me $1000 before he start work, once given the money he vanished. I already filed police report and gave police all the evidences.

      Sincerely,

You first insisted we do it Sunday because their are no ninoesctions Sunday . Sunday you did not respond * I went up there myself ready to start and you did not respond * Monday you did not respond until late afternoon and your response was lets get permit * I went up there to the town and filed them the same day and when I told you you said you were in a meeting to wait 30 mins for the 450$ permit fee to be sent to me * you sent 200$ at around 8 pm that night AFTER I payed your permits * I NEVER asked you for cash . Read your messages I stated you would give me 50% once we were on site and equipment was in motion * that was to pay for the rental of equipment and disposal of trash . Along with material costs to get the project done * you refused to pay the full permit fee back to me and accused us of being fraudulent* I withdrew the permit after you continuously harassed us on every platform from multiple fake accounts stating that we took $1000 then $3000 then $200 then proceeded to involve family nemebers when I clearly stated that she was not our only project and I was devoting way too much time for just $200 which was NOT enough for her permits yet I payed the remaining balance in hopes she would understand that we are here to help! Would a fraudulent business be on BBB? No* that is why I am here . Responding * I spoke to the officer and as you may know I did NOTHING wrong besides protect myself and my business * mind you we did not initially agree on permits so when she decided to* we did not charge the permit fee * she was to deduct it from our initial price which I agreed to as long as she either payed them herself * or send me the money to pay for them * she said she would send it and it took hours and we only received not even half of her permit fees* she failed to make her payments on time which led to termination of agreement * you are correct I went up there multiple times but not for cash * you added more work to the project and no extra funds * permits and on top of that you were not consistent * you did not follow through even after you called the town and they told you clearly we simply needed to submit payment * they told you I had filed them I was just waiting on you to send the payment * after an hour I decided to pay them myself and go about my day . The following morning she demanded proof and I asked for the fee to be reimbursed that is when she refused to pay us any more money until the permit was approved . That was not what we agreed on and at that point I had invested both time and money that she claimed was fraud . No body work for free nor will they pay for your project you must understand that it costs money and we had an agreement between me and you personally * why would you expect us to follow through and use our funds to finish your project ? Arent you a contractor yourself do you pay your customers projects with your money and your business instead of their actual money? Why should I have to pay for all the mistakes and decisions that you made based of assumptions about us being fraudulent* the officer I spoke to closed the case there is no nothing fraudulent about me or my business if you continue to accuse us and lie about giving us cash we will pursue defamation of character charges and harassment lawsuits * you have proof of the 200$ so do I. But there is no proof of anything else being received only your accusation but I can prove it . See I always send out a receipt from the asphalt company when I place the order * I told you you would receive a copy from them as well as a confirmation from the rental company for the equipment and dumpster or dump trucks . If that which she stated was the case neither the officer nor bbb would have been able to reach me correct ? But yet we are here and by law * as stated by the officer * we did not commit fraud or take anything from you . You owe me the remaining deposit money * ***** only sent $200 of your not going to cooperate dont waste my time this isnt a game if you continue to lie about us we are entitled to enforce legal matter and I will be submitting and recording my ***** for time and money spent on a project that was not ours and we were not the reason for termination of agreement you chose to voluntarily * for your convenience * terminate our agreement by not submitting your payments on time and incomplete. We do not conduct business that way specially when heavy machinery and trucks along with material is being provided * $200 doesnt cover any of that . I cant either .

      Complaint: 21840114

I am rejecting this response because:

      1) I verified several times with DuPage county regarding the permit, they said there is no permit or any permit application. He only sent the screen shot which is the initial application to get the permit which anyone can do that without paying anything or finishing the application.

      2) He got $1000 cash when he came rest of the deposit i was going to him when he brought machine, he came on Sunday to get the cash, he never brought his machine to start the work because no one can rent those huge machines on Sunday, and ********** only rent out smaller tools which are not used on this kind on jobs.

      3) look at the screen shot he sent when apparently he was applying for the permit just to show me , the name of the company shows  HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION LLC  , I also called on the number, it has been disconnected, this guy is a scam artist please check other reviews on BBB

I still insist that he is a con artist

      Sincerely,

Had this company give me a bid for removing 4 trees. He said he would go by and look . Sent a bid of $2000 to my email with his business license and insurance. He asked for deposit. I saw other reviews and said Ill send deposit when he shows up on site of tree cutting. He showed up with one guy and a box truck . He said he had a crew and all the equipment to do the job but needed money for dumpster etc. and asked for the deposit. I sent half and he said he needed the rest. Then called later and said he needed more and gave excuses about why like trees were bigger than he thought and closer to house and he would need a permit and bigger equipment to hold it up. I sent a little more . At end of day he had only one tree down and then ghosted. Told the guy he hired to call me and I find out he did not pay that guy.

The date of the transaction took place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at around 9:30 a.m. with the owner ******************************* of No Limit Builders, LLC. The amount of money paid was a $200.00 deposit to clean and repair the carpet for a residential apartment. After completion I would have paid the owner ********* another $300.00 with a credit card.I didn't know that he didn't have his own cleaning equipment. He supposedly was going to ********** to rent the machine to clean the carpet. I waited for him to return to start the job on March 30, 2024, which was a Saturday. He never returned after I waited for 4 hours. I decided to call him, and he told me, he had to go to another ********** to find an attachment for the carpet cleaner, because the ********** in ******, IL didn't have the right attachment. And that he will come Sunday (Easter), March 31, 2024, at 8 a.m. to do the job, because he was finishing up another job for someone else. I get a text on Sunday (Easter), and he tells me, he is on his way back from ******, IL finishing up a job, and he will meet me at 3pm or 4pm. I got a text from him later at around 6:30 pm saying he forgot it was Easter, and he had the equipment till Wednesday, April 3, 2024. I told him I can't meet on weekdays and would like my $200.00 deposit returned. He was supposed to have returned the deposit of $200 to me in person or find someone who could Zelle me on Monday, April 1, 2024. He still hasn't returned my money as of April 10, 2024. All of a sudden, he will not answer the phone or respond to my text regarding the money, and now his voicemail is full. I have an ******* wrote up and he is using a Cicero, IL government office as his business on the invoice. I found his business on the Nextdoor App, and I have put in a complaint on him on that app as well. I also noticed he took his photo down from the Nextdoor App, but I got a copy of his photo before he took it down. I believe I have been scammed. I have uploaded a copy of the invoice.

We recently went under contact with No Limit Builders LLC, ***********************, to have some concrete repairs completed at **************** at the ************** *******. We signed the invoice with some correction that he agreed to. We were suppose to start work at 9am on Monday, July 24. No one showed up until 11am and worked until 130pm. Agreed work schedule was 9-5 daily. No materials were ever dropped off as we agreed to the previous day on Sunday. Next day, Tuesday, 25, no one showed up. Communication was made with ***** and he said that he was on another job and couldn't get away. Next day Wednesday, 9 am, after he agreed with our GM *** **** that he would meet her at 9am and begin work. No one showed again. He kept saying he was coming - but to find out he was at his "other" job doing a punch list that couldn't wait. Today, Friday, he was suppose to meet my GM again at 9 am to drop off material and figure out a game plan to get the work accomplished. Originally he said 4-7 days. Then it became I can get it done in 2, no worries. On Friday, July 21 we cut him a check for 25% of the invoice in the amount of *******, made payable to *******************************, not even to the **** His W9 that he sent to us was for his TIN ID ***********, which was dated 7/21/2023. Communication conversation was made throughout mainly over FB messenger by myself, *****. I do have screen shots of the entire conversation from day one when he reached out to my based on my FB posted looking for contactors to help with flooring repairs.

He requested that I pay a $350 deposit via Zelle. I paid the deposit for them to begin work, the owner of the company never showed back up. He sent one subcontractor by, but he did not complete work.
