I took my car to get repairs done on my transmission in April 2022. The car came out and has had issues with rough idling and emissions after coming out of shop. I tried to get the issue rectified with them to which I was given rude attitude and no help. Now in march 2024, the transmission goes out again after paying $3200 for them to fix it.

**************** - In April of 2023, after our ********** Systems Check confirmed your vehicles transmission required remanufacturing, our recommended service to resolve the issue was authorized by you and documented on our repair order. The vehicle was returned to you with the transmission problem resolved.  Subsequent visits to the shop determined engine and exhaust system issues which were not related to the transmission service we performed.  We understand that now, 2 years later, a possible transmission problem may be occurring.  Our records confirm you did not contact us or bring the vehicle in for evaluation.  We will offer our ********** Systems Check at no charge to determine if a transmission problem does exist and we may offer some price consideration to resolve your issue.

Hello, my name is *****************************. Im contacting you in regards of me putting my car into this shop to be service for a brand new Transmission on December 3, 2022. I was quoted a total of $5,868 to fix my car. I agreed with the price I was told that I had to leave an $2,000 deposit to order the transmission and start work, so I paid the $2,000 deposit. I was given a receipt and I was told that the remaining balance will be due when I pick up my car. I receive a call from AAMCO Transmission on Friday December 9, 2022 stating that my car was ready for pick up. I came to the shop to pick up my car and paid the remaining balance of $3,868 because I was told that my car was ready. On Sunday when I went to drive my car and put it on the expressway my car began to shake and it started making some kind of knocking noise as if my Transmission was going to jump out the hood of my car thats when I immediately knew something was wrong because my car was driving just like it was driving when I brought it in to them to be service. I immediately pull over on the side of the expressway and look under my car to see if something was loose thats when I discover a two by four mounted up under my car I remove the wood because I thought that was the problem. I call the shop the next day to explain to them what was going on with my car I was told to bring my car in, when I got there I spoke to ******* the shop manager which was very unprofessional and very nasty to me and my wife. I was told that it was an rebuild Transmission from **************** explain to him I paid $5,868 for an brand new transmission. I was told that the program didnt take to the transmission and that I need to take my car to the dealership where they purchased the transmission from because they sold them a faulty transmission. I explain to ******* that Im not doing their leg work for a service that they got paid for in full. ******* then told me that he dont have time to talk to me because he has other jobs to do.

This customer authorized an exchange remanufactured transmission which was purchased from ****** and installed.  The transmission failed and per ******'s policy, the vehicle was required to be brought to a ****** dealership for evaluation and resolution of the problem.  The vehicle was brought to a ****** dealership and the issue is being resolved there.  We request that the file be closed as we have fulfilled our obligation in this matter.

We watched ******* videos,(Uncle ***** and I) and we shared the video with them, on how to install one solenoid. It was a 15-minute procedure. We were adamant about the singular work we wanted to be done and that's all we needed. They insisted on doing their "Free" inspection and said, "if you don't want the work you get your car back at no charge". This is anything but the truth. They said they could do the necessary repairs for $600 and began disassembling her transmission of their own volition. Next, we got a call indicating they need to shore up the A-Frame because of rust issues stating the transmission would otherwise fall out. Then they informed us to rebuild this transmission would cost $4405.00.We informed them this was more than what the car retails for. We declined their offer and told them we would be there to pick up the car and that's when they dropped their bomb. Now for us to get our car back they want $675 to reassemble the vehicle and the car is not drivable. We are expected to pay $675.00 plus another $150 for the tow so the car can be parked on the street. Mind you they FIXED NOTHING AND LATER SAID THEY WOULD MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. But for how l long? Here is the most remarkable item is this is a rusted 21-year-old car with many other ongoing issues. The car is not worth the price but my niece needs it to go back and forth to her Doctors appointments. My family has gotten a car from a relative but this mean-spirited AAMCO Transmission refuses to allow her to remove her license plates and sticker from her old car. How mean-spirited can you get? They have the car which satisfies their $675.00 but they want to punish her. We called the Cicero ***************** but they showed sympathy toward the business owner and refuse to order her plates released. We intend to take them to court and I advised anyone else to do so otherwise they will continue this pattern of bait and switch.

******************** approved removal and disassembly of the transmission and also a replacement of the subframe because the subframe was completely rusted. We took the transmission apart but are unable to put it back together without the subframe repair which she has now refused.  If she comes in with the money owed for the labor performed, $744.38, we will of course put the transmission back together and provide her the car. That said, she wants us to fix the subframe and put it together at no change which we will not do.

The customer had her vehicle repaired in March of 2021.  The repair was covered by a 12 month or ****** mile warranty.  Although the warranty has expired, we are more than willing to work with her to resolve her current problem by offering price consideration.  She may contact us at our shop to arrange for us to help her.
