I contracted with In Home Personal Services in June, 2019, for 24/7 caregiving services for my mother within an assisted living facility. The provided services were always more than adequate and any issues were professionally and quickly addressed by an on-site manager/director.However, the financial components of the arrangement have been questionable. Monthly ACH payments were frequently processed before the due date, including one made on the date of my mother's death in late April, four days before the due date. This payment reflected the standard "pay in advance" charges for the subsequent month. When this was pointed out and a reversal of charges or refund was requested, the "billing specialist" confirmed that a refund was approved but not yet paid. The total amount included a refund for ***** charges, as well as the unused days of service in April and totaled $12035. There has never been any dispute regarding the amount of the refund due nor has **** denied that a refund is due.To date, no refund has been received. In the intervening months, 3 separate written/emailed demands for payment, including one prepared by an attorney, have been sent to **** with no resolution. A complaint was filed with the ******** ************************* Health ************ again with no resolution.**** has always agreed that a refund is due; however, there has never been any explanation offered for their lack of action. "The check is in the mail" seems to be the fall-back position but no documentation of a processed or misdirected check has been provided to me or the AG's office.Sadly, this has proven to be a highly frustrating - and expensive - experience that has been totally unnecessary.
