We hired him 9/7/2020 to paint our house. He came and bid the job. We accepted the price without haggling and paid $1827.50 down. He stated he would send the contract right away. I finally got it after reaching out to him 3 different times. The job began 11/2020. He states they painted thicker coats of paint on certain spots of my house without charge. Again, he bid the job. I never asked for extra work and accepted the quoted price. After painting, he left his ladder in my yard for a month. I had to continuously reach out to get it removed. I paid him in full in 11/2020, totaling $3855. The contract included the painting and installation of 3 sets of shutters. I had to special order them, so they weren’t available at the job start. He said to let him know as they arrived. He would then retrieve, paint, and install them. They arrived in 1/2021 and I notified him. He retrieved them in March 2021. The shutters are still not installed. I have reached out numerous times and have been given every excuse. After repeated attempts at contact, he finally called in 8/2021. He said he had been travelling, was sorry, and thought the job had been finished. He sent me pictures of newly purchased paint cans and said he would be there Monday 8/23/2021 to install them. He did not show. He would not answer calls/texts and would not call me back. Meanwhile, I had to repair a roof leak in 8/2021. Without mentioning that I had painters recently, the roofing contractor stated, “Whoever painted your house put a hole in your roof.” Finally, on 9/16/2021, we posted a negative ****** review. He promptly called me, attempting to intimidate me to remove the review. He stated no work would be finished until it is down and stated, “I will lie and say I returned your shutters.” I stated the review would remain until the job is finished. As of today, it remains unfinished, and I haven’t heard from him. We had to scrape and repaint a section this fall that was already bubbling and peeling.
