    -? BEWARE THIS COMPANY!!! JJ Swartz remolded my home in 1999 after a fire. In January 2023 I decided to replace my drafty windows. The window company would not put in the new windows because the house was so badly damaged from improper window installation by JJ Swartz 24 years ago. I contacted the current owner of JJ Swartz, Brad Swartz. He took no responsibility and offered no apologies. He came to my house, said he could make the repairs and that he would "discount and take care of me". Brad Swartz was terribly unprofessional and uncooperative when working with the window company to make the repairs. Employees from JJ Swartz came on 3 occasions and did about 13 hours of work, but I got charged for 26 hours of labor. Because I have to pay for the time they spent sitting outside - doing nothing - waiting for their boss (Brad) to show up. The work they did was pathetic. I had to hire another contractor to come fix and finish their job. Buy I received an extremely over priced bill for an unfinished job from Brad Swartz. I feel as though I was lied to and taken advantage of. This project has been prolonged for 9 months now. This company is shady and they do poor quality work for a ridiculous amount of money. BEWARE!!!

    I would like to take this time to respond to the complaint filed by Ms. F***** in regards to the comments made as it relates to how the project she called us to do was handled. On January 17th, Ms. F***** called into our office asking if there was a lifetime warranty on windows installed in 1999, to which the response was that we do not offer that warranty as part of our business model, we do however have a 1 year material and labor warranty on work performed. The conversation did take a turn for the worse at this time to which it was said that J.J. Swartz Co. maliciously installed the windows wrong 24 years ago. We take pride in our work and as there had not been any issues with the workmanship up until the time that another company came in and told Ms. F***** that the windows were installed wrong we felt that there was not a call for any form of warranty to be validated. After discussions took place we agreed to meet onsite to see what work could be done to allow for the new window company to install the windows Ms. F***** had purchased. Several phone calls took place between JJS, Ms. F*****, and the representative from the window company explaining that any work performed by JJS would be at a cost as there was no warranty for windows installed 24 years ago. When the window company came to install the new windows, JJS met them onsite to do the repairs to the area below the bathroom window as requested, the representative explained what needed to be done and was assigning fault the entire time to JJS. During this interaction JJS and Ms. F***** were in agreement that any other repairs that were needed to windows other than the one originally discussed would be completed by the window company she had hired. There were multiple trips to the jobsite with carpenters from JJS to help in attempting to solve the problem. It had been explained that the work was to be done on a time and material basis. The amount of time was billed correctly based on time paid out as well as a discount given to help offset some of the costs. It was not until the invoice was emailed to Ms. F***** that I learned of her being upset as we had many conversations up to that point in which she was very happy with how I was helping her with this project. On multiple occasions she explained how dissatisfied she was with the window company and had thanked me for what we had been doing. I was blindsided by the phone call that her and her daughter made on Monday voicing their displeasure. I was happy that her daughter was on the phone as the tone and words of the call from Ms. F***** were uncomfortable to say the least. We strive for customer satisfaction and to do so with honesty and integrity. It is unfortunate that Ms. F***** did not feel that we did what we said we would do. To date there has not been payment for services rendered on the invoice as presented. J.J. Swartz Co. has been in business for over 102 years and takes pride in the work we perform. If there is a solution that Ms. F***** thinks is fair I would encourage her to reach out so that a resolution can be discussed. At this time we feel that the amount charged for time spend is a fair representation of what was explained throughout the process.
