      They lost the only key to my Acura MDX and are refusing to pay a locksmith or replace the ignition to address the issue. I plan to file a small claims case as soon as possible, seeking approximately $4,000 for the value of the car and money invested into it, plus compensation for the loss of use as I am a severely disabled woman. The key was dropped off on August 15th between 9:30 and 10 AM. They admitted having lost the key a few days later, affecting when they could tow it from the shop near where it died. They eventually did tow it as it could shift into neutral and I'd been calling for estimates and getting stonewalled by them wanting to know with whom I left the key or a description of the employee. They don't give their names or wear name badges and I am an autistic woman with neurological impairments meaning I cannot recall names and match with faces until I'm well-acquainted with someone. They also overcharged me $200 on a prior repair by placing an estimated amount in a service charge column and I was initially willing to use that credit balance on subsequent work, but that is no longer possible.

      ************* called on Wenseday evening around 8 pm. She explained she was waiting for a estimate for the repair.The problem was that she told another repair shop that she had a new alternator installed and was not installed correctly.**** Automotive Service And Towing had her vehicle and declined to work on it. **** phone  ************.She called my business and wanted to have the vehicle towed to my location.Here is where the problem begins.She say's she dropped the key off with someone.Asking all people associated with my shop about the key eveyone said they did not have the key or seen her.I asked ************** to describe what the person looked like to try to figure out the problem.She said she does not remember who or what they looked like.I had previusly searched all my keys and any probable location with no key found.The vehicle was towed from ****** shop without a key almost a week earlier.She mentioned she has some mental issues and they cause her memory problems.**** mentioned also the woman has mental issues and declined to work on it and told ************* to have the vehicle removed from his location and he also does towing.The key problem I decieded to stop by ****** shop and see what he had to say but found a sign on the door he was out of town till Monday am.The missing key I do not find to be my problem as she say's it is.I would consider to split the cost of a locksmith if it is even possible to repair.

      The vehicle was towed twice with no key.Once from ****** Towing and the other to ****************** residence with out charge.I do not have her missing key and all associates surrounding the key have been questioned about ever have been given a key all with a negative response.I am truly sorry about the where abouts of the key but the evidence is that the key is missing and my business does not have that key.No information was given to me about who had recieved the key was provided.I believe in that you are innocent until proven guilty and would like to see that.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      his staff admitted on the phone several times to misplacing the key.  it was only when i began to ask him to pay for a locksmith that he decided to eschew his legal responsibilities.  Of course his staff is going to lie now to back him ** in the complaint that they never received the key, but everyone i talked to in between the time it was dropped off august 15th until my patience wore thin and I told him he was obligated to replace the lost key is when he started getting obstinate and abusive.  Oh well, I will be re-filing my small claims court, and a simple matter that would have cost him roughly $200 is now going to cost him several thousand.  #FAFO
