On Saturday November 13th at approximately 12:00PM I rented a tow trailer to pickup a door and some cabinets. I told the associate I could have returned it by 2:00PM at J & R Rental in ************, **. but the associate stated they are closed on Sunday November 14th, and he instructed me to return in on Monday November 15th in the morning. I called on Monday morning around 11:00AM to inform them I would be late returning the trailer and the associate stated it was ok. I called twice to let them know I was coming and twice they stated it was ok, but I had to go take of some important things in Galena, and I could not go with the trailer attached to my car so I took my spouses car. The trailer remained at my home in my drive way safe and unused. Now, at J&R Rental As soon as I return the Trailer at approximately 1:25PM The intake associate immediately was looking at the same corner of the trailer the first employee was looking at and stated that some piece of the chain was missing. The manager calls me an hour later stating that they have to charge me for the missing piece of the chain or for turning in the trailer late. The manager was implying that I stole the part and If I don't pay for the part he'll just charge me for returning the trailer late after I was already cleared to return it. In addition, I rented the trailer on Saturday 12:00PM and returned it Monday at 1:25PM An hour later than the checkout. But they Still charged me anyway for no reason. Also, I believe due to the behavior of the receiving technicians one or both might be on drugs and stealing parts and making customers pay them. This is very upsetting and if there are other customers who are not paying attention this may continue to happen. Voicing my concern to the manager he proceeded to instruct me to be quiet and let him speak after accusing me of theft and that if he could not charge me for the supposed theft he was going to charge me for the late rental, and they did.
