      On October 1, 2021 I hired Green Tree Home Solutions to install a new roof on my home, garage, new sidding, soffit, down spouts and gutters. I was told the weather was still warm enough to install the roof and complete the project. On November 23 they installed a new roof on the garage and house. The weather that day was extremley windy and below the temprature that GAF recomends to install it's roofing products. They did not complete the job, the chimney cap was not replaced after their workers tryed to install the new one. They brought the wrong size, and did not put the old one on back where it did not leak. They also did a very poor job on the new drip edge and water is getting into the house. The old gutters were reinstalled, they were broken and nail holes made in them in the process. The gutter to the rear of the garage did not have the down spout attached at all. The roof does not have a starter strip on the rear of the house. The boot on the plumming vent was done incorrectly as well as all of the flashing. There was to be a vent put in the garage as it is insulated and that was not done. They also did zero clean up on nails and trash, They had beer cans and pizza boxs in trash can. I contacted the sales person to come out and clean up and to finish the project, he came out but never completed the project. I found the owners phone number on this site and called him, he came and agreed there were many problems. He never did anything to complete the job, no contact or bill was sent. I came home after being out of town to find water in my garage and basement,I made the company aware and nothing was done. I have hired another contractor to come in and redo and complete the project at a much higher cost. I have mitigated the damage to my property as best I could waiting on them. I have asked for their insurance and bond info but they have not given it to me.

      We were hired By Mrs. ******* to replace her roof and anther issues after she had filed an insurance claim. We did install the roof while Mrs. ******* was gone. She had left a message asking us to install even if she was gone if the weather was good enough to do so ( I have the voicemail as proof). To install the roof on the home garage, some of the gutters had to be removed. We had the gutters and the rest of the project scheduled, but we were then told that she would not allow any of our crews or any Green Tree employee o her property. I spoke to her and asked for a meeting to go over her issues. We agreed on a time, and I met her along with my production manager to go over any issues she might have. After meeting with her, I suggested that we have a GAF inspector come out and look over the install. She agreed to that but when I called and tried to schedule the inspection she had changed her mind, and again would not allow anyone affiliated with us to came out or do any repairs. She has listed so many issues, but we always have a manager on site, or checking in throughout the day for all of these trash and housekeeping issues. She is also stating that we threw beer cans and pizza boxes in her trash can. Again, I know she was gone during the install, and our site manager would have noticed these things if this occurred. We have never had any issue like this in the thirteen years we have been in business. I would have been more than happy to work with Mrs. ******* and replace or repair any areas of her project, but she has consistently insisted that we are not to be on her property for anything. She did call in about a leak on her garage. We explained that it was most likely because the gutters were removed during install, and had not been put back up since we were not allowed back out.

      In ending, I have a voicemail from Mrs. ******* stating that she was very happy with the way the roof looked, and was excited to see what the final project would look like when we were done. The next day was when she called and told us she was completely unhappy, and we were no longer allowed on her property. I have not asked Mrs. ******* for any down payment, nor sent her any type of invoice. I am out around 10k right now, and have had my attorney reach out to her. I tried to attach the voicemails to this message, but was unable to do so. I am sure we can figure something out if they are needed. I also do not have anything in writing asking for my State license, bond and insurance. Since we are in litigation I am sure she has access to all of that through my attorney.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      We have contacted this business multiple times and they do not respond, I do not agree with what is in this statement.

      I have contacted his Attorney for his bond and Lis number and will follow up on that today, as I have not received it yet.

      I am contacting the Illinois Attorney General to file a complaint with hope this never happens to another person.

      I have contacted GAF about this install and they have referred me to IIBEC to inspect the property, and to help  me move forward.

      Greentree Home Solutions did not register my warranty with GAF, I have no warrenty from them as stated in the contract. I will not have a warranty even if we resolve these issues because...

      Greentree home Solitions is no longer an authorized installer of GAF roofing produts.

      A hearing was held on September 20, 2022, Green Tree Home Solutions vs ***** *******.  Based upon the evidence provided at the arbitration hearing including *******'s expert witness, the arbitrator finds and determines that Green Tree's roofing work was not performed in a workmanlike manner.  Based on the inspection of the roof, *******'s expert witness arrived at the conclusion that the numerous deficiencies with the installation required a complete removal and replacement of Green Tree's work. 

      My legal fees were $7,922 to defend myself.  I hope no one ever has an experience like this again.
