I have a ductless system that is only a few months old. Installing company closed/moved business so I called Merz to come look at the issue. Worker said it had a coolant leak by the line connection on the outside unit. Guaranteed he could prevent it from leaking in the future with special “O” rings, he came back another day and installed the “O” rings and new coolant. Tried to pay him and was told they would bill me. Two days later my heat quit working again , only blowing cool air. Called then back , same worker came back , hung outside for two hours and told me it makes no sense cause it is a simple short run in closed system and he couldn’t find any other leak than the original one he said he fixed. He left and told me I needed to find someone else to fix it because he couldn’t get it fixed. I the received an 1100 plus bill in the mail. I called in and explained what was going on and said I would pay something but not that bill they made up. My heat worked for two days after I was guaranteed this would fix my problem. I’d gladly pay if the problem was fixed but it’s not and they left me hung out ti dry in the middle of winter with no heat.Business response

We have reached out to the customer two times to get this issue resolved, but have not received a call back. Also we sent a statement to the customer to try to get this issue resolved.Customer response

I did receive another bill in the mail on saturday April 8th. No adjustment to it just a message saying the owner tried to call me, I have zero missed calls from this business so I am not sure who they are calling.
Again I was billed $735.02 to fix it initially, and was told these "special O rings" would fix our issue 100% (keep in mind I only paid $600 to have it installed 6 months prior)
Before I received my bill (only a couple days after repair) the unit was not heating anymore and had ran out of compressed gas that makes it work. This was the same problem I started with before they "fixed it with special O rings".
Then I got billed $358 extra for them coming out to look at the issue they didn't repair the first time, only to be told the second time that they have no clue now and that there is no reason he should not be able to find the issue because it is a short run closed system. That is what the worker told me.
I have also been billed $66.62 late fees, of which $22.28 was billed since this complaint has been filed.
