My truck kept stalling a specific way. I took it in and told them exactly what it was doing and I thought it was a short. Called a week later and said they found problem (not short). Would cost $1000. Then called a few days later and said that didnt fix it, was going to replace another. $2500 this time. 2 week later called me and said it was done. I picked it up. Made it 5 miles before it did exactly what it did before. Had to have it towed back. Took a week for them to look at. Called and said they found a bad connection on a fuel injection part. $1000 more. Talked to service manager who I told I thought it was misdiagnosed, considering the above. *** was a total jerk. $4000 and a month later for a $600 part that would have fixed what I said I thought it could have been to start.

we not only attempted to contact customer we talked with him 2 different times by both the service writer and then the service mgr.  *****************.  ************** talked at length to the customer as customer stated he could get the part cheaper and them we offered to let him bring in his own part and we would install at which time we told him that our part did carry a 2 year warranty at which time he said he would think about it and call us back!!  ******** did call back and stated his wife told him to go ahead and let us do it and get it done.

Further more the customer talked with ************** when he picked it up and we explained further what happened and the customer said he understood and paid it in full without asking for any more assistance than what we already did which we included in our response was a copy of the towing charge and the bill showing the free labor, which amounted to several hundred dollars!!

      ***********************

Also please make a note that i am going to be out of town until December the 11th.  and will not be able to respond until then

In regards to ******************************** claim, his vehicle is 18 years old. it had several issues when it was brought into **. When we first checked the vehicle, it has zero oil pressure. There were after market parts put on the vehicle, subsequently not allowing us to adequately test the system. After replacing the after market parts, we were able to test and find out that the vehicle needed an oil pump, which we replaced. This was all discussed with Mr. ************ and provided on the service ticket. He approved of these repairs. Unfortunately, after making the repairs we found out that there was a problem with the fuel injector control module as well. The failed module was due to a cracked board. This was not a short as the customer stated. Mr. ************ once again approved of this repair. Ultimately, in good faith, we did adjust the 2nd bill for Mr. ************ taking off all of our labor charges. This is highlighted on the 2nd bill as you will see. We feel this was fairly resolved with Mr. ************ and he seemed satisfied with this decision

I am rejecting this response because:
There were no after market parts.  If there was they were on there when I bought the truck from this dealer less than a year prior. The adjusted bill was for labor that by their own admission took them less than 10 minutes.  The Ignition control module was in fact a short as I initially stated.  I was told on the phone during this that the tech could wiggle the wires and make it run

      Sincerely,

My wife and I purchased a pre-owned 2020 Lincoln Corsair from Northside Ford on June 21, 2022 for $39,995.00 Upon signing papers we were told this car was “reacquired” by Lincoln for a faulty roof rail. Which seemed like a minor ordeal. After the first mechanical/electrical issues arose 9 days after owning the car, and then damage being done to the interior of the vehicle, I spoke to the salesman and he said that if anything further happened they would buy back the car, no problem. Fast forward to the last week of August, my wife started having trouble driving her 40 mile commute to work. Having to shut off the vehicle and restart to regain her electronic components. I called Northside Ford and tried working out a deal for them to offer to buy the suv back. I was told they would sell me another car on their lot, after reviewing their inventory, and not having any vehicles we liked I asked them to just do what they said and buy the vehicle back. After two days they flat out refused to offer any assistance. We then traded off the vehicle on September 10 with an offer of $28,000.00 and a full carfax showing TWO previous owners, both who had the vehicle bought back as a lemon. There was a little more than a faulty roof rail! If there is any help that The BBB can offer, my wife and I would appreciate it very much. We tried to be fair, and come to an agreement but to no avail.

The customer came in for service after they bought it.  They brought it back in for some more repair work.  At that point, they told us they didn't want the Lincoln any longer.  They wanted to purchase a BMW.  We offered them quite a bit more than the BMW dealer did.  The customer only wanted a new BMW and we couldn't get them one because we are not a BMW dealer.  We gave them a loaner and offered to put them in a different Lincoln.  They have traded in the vehicle somewhere else.

Northside states that they made us an offer between the 19-24 of September and they were thinking it was the 23rd to be exact.
We had traded in the Lincoln Corsair on September 10th.  Would have been awfully hard to have had an appraisal and offer anytime after that seeing as we no longer had the vehicle.
