      I hired advantage contractor solutions to replace my furnace and air conditioning system. The company left the job unfinished. They have not installed the wall sleeve and louver panel on the exterior of my building. There is a large opening in the wall exposing the furnace. I live in a condominium. My homeowners association is not happy. Its been nine months since they said they would finish the job. I would like them to finish the job or refund me the cost to hire another contractor to complete the job.

      Contractor theft of homeowner property occurred during the repair of poorly installed vinyl plank flooring. Contracted through Pulte Homes. The field manager said, 'He does good work, there is nothing we can do.' Be cautious of Advantage Contractor Solutions employees.

      We take all complaints very seriously and discussed this immediately with our employee when this occurred a year ago.

      Our employee denies any involvement of this incident. He has done thousands of service repairs without incident or accusations. Homeowner stated that he had camera footage of the incident but has declined sharing it with our team.

      We have been back to this home two more times since the alleged incident for repairs without any mention of theft occurring.

      Our thermostat are faulty. We did a troubleshoot with manufacturer over the phone ie Honeywell. They advised to have them replaced by installer as they are under warranty. Contractor is asking for fees to replace them. One, these are only 2-3 years old machines and under warranty from manufacture. Two, they want to come out and first take a diagnostics fees and then return again to replace for 2nd fees. This will run up to $125 plus $189 minimum. To replace an under warranty product at this cost is wrong. This is a diy possible correction but contractor can not send replacement without above fees.

      Honeywell provides a parts warranty of 5 years on all of the thermostats. They do not cover any of the labor.

       

      We must make a trip to the home to confirm diagnostic and then charge the homeowner accordingly for the install time and time to warranty out the unit. Any questions feel free to reach out

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      Trouble shoot have been done over the phone with Honeywell and they have in their records that thermostat are faulty. Honeywell can only provide replacement through contractor though and not directly to customer. As time has been spent with honeywell and we diagnosed thermostat issue, all that is required is shipping the replacement thermostat and customer can DIY replace them on the wall. Advantage contractors force us to have 2 visit for this and both paid. There is no reason for this as then warranty doesnt make any sense. It is easier to buy a replacement from hardware store for less then $50 and replace but call in charges for in warranty replacement is not acceptable.

      Advantage is not requiring two visits, they offered to do the warranty during the first visit (will bring replacement stat with them). Also the homeowner is not required to use Advantage for this repair, any Honeywell dealer can process the claim for them.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, while I noted they will change thermostat in one visit and charge call out fees plus labour as well, it is still disappointing to see amount of financial damage they will cause to home owners. That been said, we will go with different provider who can be trusted more especially in the event when system fails with in 3 years and we have to pay for diagnosis.
