I purchased what was supposed to be high quality PRIME MEAT from a guy named ***************** / Windy City Quality Foods out of ***** ********. He came to my business in ************, told me that he had high quality meat to sell. Without looking into his business further, I paid him(*****************) not a business name $1045 for 2 boxes of steaks and 1 box of chicken. I asked for a business card, brochure and invoice. He said it was in the box and wrote his phone number on the outside flap of the box. The boxes did not contain any business card, brochure or invoice. Within the first few days of receiving the meat, my husband and I defrosted and grilled 2 New York Strips and another type of meat not marked. The beef was tough and hard to chew...unlike any other PRIME steak we have cooked in the past. Some of the chicken was defrosted the next day. When opened it smelled like FISH! We did not attempt to **** the chicken at all! With that happening, I decided to look into ****** business. Found multiple complaints about his business. 27 1 star rating on YELP. 7 1 star ratings on ******* 4 BBB complaints. Looked into the ******** Secretary of State to find out about his business. #******** Was closed August 9 2019. My husband and I sent multiple emails with regard to the issues and Mr. **** said that he would talk with the vendor and see what he could do. He said that he would exchange any bad meat for new meat, but refused a general refund. That was his policy he said. There were no policies nor paperwork to back up anything. He has repeatedly refused to identify the name of his business or the relationship he supposedly has with his supplier despite multiple requests. We want our money refunded.
