1 starBuying a newer car should have been an exciting time and happy time but this purchase was far from that. Issues from getting paperwork properly sent to a Co signer to not doing what 3 different people said they would take car of as far as the cars paint chips we found and then also lying about them completing the 173 point inspection that they claim to do on each CPO vehicle they get. From Zak the sales *** to ****** to a gentleman in finance to the ***air shop they "trust" to do an body work for them all the way up to Mr. **** ***** himself should be ashamed of how they all lie and I'm sorry sorry to hear that let me give you a call back to never returning the calls. They also will charge you for plates here as well if your not careful and An employee here tells you that they can't legally destroy your old plates an then being told that we should have been given them the day we drove off the lot with the new car. From the time we bought the car, It sat in the lot here for close to 3 weeks or so while they would call an say hey your cars done you can come down an pick it up only for that have been yet another lie. We live 45 mins away these were complete wastes of time and fuel And **** only calling people back once they've come here an left a bad review straight from his mouth said this. Also s******* up the paperwork to where a Co signer is now the solo cars owner nice one guys and to not be of any help when I contacted you more than 8 times today alone says a lot but I was honestly not expecting much since all of this has happened. I would very much love to get another call from **** an see what he has to say about how badly this deal among many others are destroying any of us to be ***eat customers. So unlike all of us who had to come here an drop a review for this place, I beg you please read them here or anywhere else for that matter ****** maps reviews arent any better. 1 star******! Im so sorry I did business with Elgin Hyundai. I love my car, but the hoops and headache I had to go through and continue to go through is not worth it. They lied and said they went over paperwork they didnt. They didnt give me back my valid license plates, which they were supposed to do. They didnt get a signed title from me and made me get new plates. I had to do the job of the finance officer and reach out and call and go down there for 5 days to make sure he did his paperwork right. They refused to give me a complete inspection of my certified used vehicle which Hyundai does. The salesman said that they only did a simplified version of the point inspection. Which is a lie. They were supposed to paint and take off rust spots on my hood. They did a quick patch and buffed and shine in the car, not what I was promised at all. They had my car for 2 weeks and did work that looked like it was done in an hour. When I asked to speak to a ** or when Id call someone they would block my calls or not reach back out to me. I reached out to **** **** the ** a few times and he never called me back. They heavily screen calls down there.Review fromTAO O.

1 starBought 13 vehicles in my life this was the worst. My daughter needed a car for her and her boys bought used suv over priced and car was sold with NO oil in it. Those free oil changes they offer? Check it and filter their Notorious for not changing anything. It's happened a few times here. We left that dealership never to return she's had oil loss for the year we've had it 2 qts short all the time. We're now at another dealership did all required testing and new engine is going in right now they have been incredible to us I'm sure they feel bad about our purchase and trying to right by Hyundai. The car we bought was never checked nor maintenance upon purchase and we have a lemon that Should've never been sold on their lot maybe at auction. **** **** calls and harasses me still no respect for females very rude and demands and bribes review process. They even called my daughter behind warranty company's back wihich is breech of contact begging us to let them do the engine they'd tow back to them really??? You don't even change oil and say you did. I'm stunned with all the bad reviews **** still has a job. I will start recording all calls from him from now on. This dealership need an employee clean out. Did you know Hyundai pays kickback to dealerships for 5 star reviews?? This is why they don't want low scores. Facts!Review fromSamantha R

1 starBy being a first time car buyer in my 20s, after saving up for 1.5 years I was extremely excited to purchase here! I spent 3 hours negotiating a price and was told by *** T (sales manager) I could have the night to think about it as it was an overwhelming and large first time purchase. I called the next morning to ensure the car was there, which it was. I want to make it clear I was never told to put a deposit down, I definitely would have! When I drove 1.5 hours to the dealership the car was bought and they tried to sell me one with different seats. *** T did not provide a singular apology, 0 empathy, and 0 integrity. *** T raising his voice at a young person in their 20s in front of potential customers is a weird way to handle business. They made no effort to swap from another dealership nor tried to ship it from the factory. Extremely disappointing and quite disgusting to take advantage of a young individual. 1 starThey advertise a 10 year or ******* mile warranty. Then ****** was burning oil and they gave me the run around then said no warranty without maintenance records from over 2 years ago!!!I will NEVER get a Hyundai again!!!Review fromCatherine D

1 starAfter a bad car accident I was in need of a car. As I came I to the dealer I explained I was in alot of pain and medicated. 7 1/2 I was Approve by my bank of course there was nothing for that amount. Finally I said ok let's go with your approval. They put me in a pool my credit was hit 8 times. They asked about how much I could afford a month I said about 240 ish. I hade sig thousand to put down so I thought that will be great. Well the fast talking salesman sold me on a four thousand dooler warrent which I thought was 400. So know I'm paying 400 dollers a month for a 2017 ***** civic that price was twenty three thousand what a rip off. I can't even refinace because they say I'm upside down with thus loan. 1 starI bought my first car from them and up until this point, it has been nothing but tears or anger and frustration. THEY WILL TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF YOU IF YOU ARE A WOMAN OR YOUNG. I have been spoken to with the MOST disrespectful tone and words, that I have ever experienced in my life. I bought a 2022 Sonata at 19 yrs. old, fresh off the truck and since then it's been the same problem over and over. I bought the car January of 2022 and I've taken it in every month for the same issue, Auto start/stop. It will turn on and off while I am at a light or while DRIVING, causing me to obstruct the road, turn on my hazards, turn off the car, turn it back on, put it in drive, then wait until it is safe to go. They have kept my car 3 times (for about a month-month and a half each time, got a loaner all 3 times as well ONLY after throwing a fit and crying in front of them) and each time I get it back, it has been 'fixed' or 'unable to duplicate issue'. MY LESS THAN A YEAR-OLD CAR HAD ITS ENGINE REPLACED ALONG W/ 2 INJECTORS. I spoke to the general manager, and he has the attitude of a 5-year-old. He shamed me and talked to me with the most disgusting tone and is beyond unprofessional. Apparently, no one there is ever at fault, it's always the customers wrongdoing even though, I have every single maintenance report from when I bought it, until now showing perfect upkeep. Never been late on a payment either. They lose track of reports and don't properly document their complaints or questions in general. Please avoid this dealership, I am now stuck with a faulty car that I feel very unsafe being in, I filed a complaint to corporate and will be taking legal action if not resolved soon.Review fromNicky F

1 starThey are awful. **** is a dishonest salesperson. Swindled me into packages I didnt need for the car I bought. Their business sold me a pre owned CERTIFIED vehicle THAT HAD ISSUES. Ummm pretty sure thats ILLEGAL. I can only use the packages at that slimey location. ***** is also another issue of a business manager there. I asked multiple times to have my address corrected and he couldnt seem to get back to me. He hides behind his computer screen and no one there can seem to supply me with the information I asked for. ****, the general manager, THREATENED to take my car back after I purchased it because they kept it for a week to fix a mirror?? I should have just given them the car back and went elsewhere. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE, they are scummy and I truly dont know how they sleep at night.Review fromRon S

1 starTypical sleezy car salesmen!!!I am only putting 1 star because they wont let me put 0 or even negative stars.I went to Elgin ******** to find a used car for my daughter ( who is 19 yrs. *** and doesn't know anything about cars ), we found one and proceeded to make a deal. ***************************** was our salesman, and the deal was for $10,000.00 give or take a couple hundred out the door, for a used 2012 Hyundai Tuscan with ****** miles on it!Because the car was just traded in, we left it with ****** for them to look it over and fix anything that might be a safety issue, which they did, and my daughter and I were going to come sign for it, and pick it up a few days later when they were done. Unfortunately, I could not make it that day, so my ex-wife and my daughter went to get the car instead (because I thought I had everything set up for the purchase). We put $5,000 down & were going to finance the rest.My daughter set up payment's of around $200.00 a month and it was done. Today, my daughter called me after actually looking at the contract, she realized that there were several other charges that are clearly B.S., and some were charges that I told ***************************** that I didn't want, but somehow when my ex and my daughter (who knows nothing about cars) went to get the car, and unbeknownst to them, these other charges were on the contract. (why would anybody pay $15,000 for a 2012 Tuscan with ****** miles on it? The deal was for approx. $10,000!!)I called ****** the sales manager about this and of course I get the run around! (how do these people sleep at night!). So now I've tried to get hold of the general manager (****), and I haven't received a call (go figure). How can these slimeballs take advantage of a woman and a young girl!!! I have been in the auto industry for 35 years, but never car sales ( because I have a conscience), and I've worked with too many of them to know I couldn't deceive ANYONE like this. 1 starBought a car from them end of January and the vehicle didnt even make it to its first oil change. Only put **** miles on it before the engine seized up. Checked the oil and it was BONE DRY. As a single working mother I need my car. Elgin Hyundai has given me the run around now for going on 2 weeks. I call them 3-4 times a day, every day and am sent straight to someones voicemail each time. Today they finally returned my phone call and because I am uneducated about cars I handed the phone to my boyfriend who they refused to talk to about the situation even though I was RIGHT THERE they told me to call back when I am alone!!!!!!! Talk about taking advantage of a woman. PREDATORY PRACTICES !!!!!!!!!
