On Jan. 28, 2023, ***** (business owner) came to unclog a shower drain in the 2nd floor bathroom. He brought a large routing tool, removed the cover plate, and ran the tool for 5-6 minutes. He sent a video of the water running down the drain and was paid $200. On Feb. 4, I found water covering one side of the basement floor and running down from the basement ceiling below the bathroom pipes (photo 1A, 1B). ***** was called but was not available to fix this urgent issue. Another plumber came. This plumber found the water was coming from the bathroom sink and bathtub on the 2nd floor. Water ran into the basement when both of these faucets were turned on but not for any other faucet. To find where the pipes were leaking, the ceiling of the 1st floor bathroom had to be removed (photo 2) as there is no other way to access the pipe. The **trap of the 2nd floor bathtub had a large hole (photo 3) made by the routing tool used by *****. This pipe is only 4 years old. Another leak was found in the drum trap, where the lid of the trap had been forced off, also by the routing tool used by *****. Water had been leaking from the tub and sink through these two holes into the 1st floor ceiling and wall and then into the basement for 7 days. The ceiling and wall on the 1st floor were soaked with water. Two sections of the 2nd floor bathroom pipe had to be replaced to fix both holes (photo 4). Lastly, once the pipe was repaired, the plumber still had to remove the original clog (photo 5). This was done with a different, smaller routing tool. The original clog had never been cleared and water was only running down the tub drain (as seen in the video made on Jan 28) because the two large holes in the pipe allowed water to run down the ceiling and wall of the first floor and into the basement. I would like the $200 returned for a service not completed and compensation for the $1100 paid to repair property damage. I have contacted this business multiple times. Nothing has been offered.
