I called Elmhurst Animal Care Center on 3/9/23 to inquire about the $497.50 charges. The representative said that the charges is because they canceled my pet insurance for nonpayment, and charged me for the services that the pets (two dogs) had WHILE they had insurance. I started laughing because I was stunned and didn't know how to respond. How do you charge me for services that occurred while the dogs had insurance? The representative claimed that it is in the contract. I did not see that - I would not have signed such a thing.I was calling to make payment arrangements for the legitimate charges of $170.60 for the examination of my dog that I didn't even know would be the charge because I did have pet insurance but as always they never advise you of the charges; they just bill. However, I am agreeing to those charges. I highly dispute this policy of canceling my insurance and charging me for services that were covered and handled by the insurance company. They misdiagnosed my cat, gave her heavy duty medications that got her ill, tortured us back and forth, took over a thousand dollars and my cat had jaw cancer right from the start. After a month of back and forth, they suggest she see a specialist, basically did not want to continue care. Got second and third opinion, within minutes they diagnosed her correctly. Also they put cat in room where dog was in without sanitizing the room beforehand. I witnessed this. to make me whole, I am seeking reinmbursement for what they took almost a thousand dollars and made my cat more sick.Initial Complaint

On 11/4/2021, I came in to retrieve my dogs **********. I called prior to arrival to pay for the ********** over the phone to be eligible for curbside pick up. I was informed that he had to be seen by a doctor before he received his cough syrup. I explained to the young lady I was unaware of this and I wish I has been informed.My dog is scheduled for an appointment on 11/16/2021, however the receptionist informed me if I cared about my dog I would bring him in. I had an appointment previously scheduled, and if I was aware that he needed to be seen before receiving all of his medicine, I would have asked to come in sooner for a visit. The receptionist's tone and comments were very offensive and unnecessary.My dogs are my family and to say that I don't care and to hang up the phone on me is horrific and hurtful. If in question, the receptionist could have reviewed the records of how many times I've been there or my Care Credit card. Two years ago, I was there to have one of my dogs euthanized. I think the receptionist could have been more professional and courteous.The doctor or receptionist hasn't contacted me at all. My dog is sick and needs gia ********** and I can't get any help. I am going to have to spend thousands for an emergency visit.Initial Complaint

I rescued a puppy and took the puppy in for his first visit at Elmhurst Animal Care Center. They gave the puppy a couple of vaccines and a clean **** of health. After this we started seeing a rash all over his body and took our dog in for another visit. The doctor after seeing our dog gave us a shampoo and antibiotic to give to our dog. After a couple of days and the rash was getting worse we called and sent pictures and the doctor insulted my wife and said that what she googled is probably what it was. I took our dog to another doctor and they figured out what was wrong with in the first 5 minutes of us showing them the problem.
