I went to Dr. ********************** after ********** of more than 20 years retired. He said that my onlay which is tooth #**, last tooth left lower side needed to be replaced with a crown after he did an Xray. The following day after the crown was placed, I called him and told him that the crown did not feel right and that there is a gap between the crown and the gum, went back to his office and he checked it and said it was the way my tooth was, which I was skeptical because the onlay that was replaced was perfectly fitted and stayed for more than 10 years. I also was not able to wear my partials which he told me that my partials needed to be replaced also. I had a lot of work done before, crowns, filling, root canal and it never happened that I can't use my partials even with temporary crowns before, I was able to use my partials. Suffered months of eating without my partials. On November 16, 2022, a little more than a year, the crown came out. I called a local dentist close to my house and had the crown recemented, was told by the dentist that the crown did not fit right and that there is a hole in the crown. I called Dr. **********************'s office, spoke with his office manager, ******* and explained to her what happened to the crown and if I can get a refund of what I pain for, so I can have it fixed/replaced. I told her if I needed to come in so Dr. ********************** can check it himself, I can do it, she said it is not necessary for me to come and Dr. ********************** will call me. Dr. ********************** called me back, he said he does not know why the crown has a hole, said could be lab defect, some bubbles or what that could cause a hole and that crowns do come out. I had crowns before that never came out, the onlay that he replaced was more than 10 years old and he had to drill and cracked it to remove it. He said he is willing to fix it at no cost, but I just wanted a refund. If the trust between a patient and a doctor is broken, it will not work out. He charged $1295 for the crown.

When the crown was cemented it fit properly and there was no gap or perforation. It is unusual that a perforation developed but likely due to adjusting the occlusion. I asked her to come in and informed her that I would re-make the crown at no charge. I stated that I stand behind my work and would like to fix this for her. Since she doesn't want to come back I will happily refund her the money.
