  I got a estimate for porch railing from this company. I told the owner I specifically wanted straight posts near siding to allow for replacing siding. I paid half up front which was $1,500. When I was at work my 78 year old father went outside and seen a guy finishing his measurements. Instead of talking to my father the guy takes off. I email the owner who explains that everything will be done as I requested and that this was just the final measurement. One day I seen I had a new voicemail regarding scheduling installation. I called the number back but the business was climate guard in ******* not "railings and things". Red flag. When the installers showed up on December 22, 2021 they were in a climate guard truck. Red flag. While installing my railing the dropped a section denting a portion of the downspout and severing another section. They didn't say a word although I was in garage when it happened and quickly came out. Then I noticed that the railing had a decorative piece that touched siding when I said I wanted a straight post there to allow for replacing siding. I gave the installers a check for remainder of balance $1,500 ($3,000 total). I called the owner of "railings and things" and got voicemail so I emailed him. I told him about the damage and the decorative loop against siding needing to be cut off. To date he has not responded. I emailed him again today. I also emailed the concrete contractor that recommended "railings and things" as well as climate guard in *******. Not only is he pretending to be a business while merely profiting acting as a middleman man which I was unaware of, but he has refused to respond or correct problem with railing as well as address the damage to my downspout. I already fixed the downspout and when I emailed him 2 times now I've attached pictures of damage as well as problem with railing touching siding that needs to be corrected.
