Company replaced roof i have been told by my insurance company that the work was sub-par shingles blowing off roof which they say in very odd for this type shingle unless the work wasn't done properlyInitial Complaint

I hired Restoration Builders of ******* to install a new roof at *****************************************************. On 6/17/22, I submitted my final payment to Restoration Builders of ******* to *************************** in the amount of $8000. In early July, I received a call from ***************** of Restoration builders stating that my Cashiers check was a duplicate. He informed me that **************** was no longer employed and he needed my help with resolving the matter of missing funds. I did everything that was asked..... called the ****, made a fraud report with the ****. My **** stated that the check was cashed 6/25/22 (give or take 2 days) and then the cashier check was resubmitted in July. The check was cashed at **** of America (whoever cashed it was given cash) and there was no endorsement on the back of the check. ***** informed me that **************** submitted my payment in July ( I paid him 6/17) to the company and was fired afterward. I submitted my final payment to their worker but the company is sending letters of placing a lien on my home because of non payment. I made the final payment and have proof of it through my ****. The day I made payment, **************** was on the phone with *************************, and He stated he was at my home picking up the final payment. The same day while ****** was there, I sent a text to ************ (******) stating I made a final payment to *************************** on 6/17/22. The company is attempting to get a payment that I have already made but one of their employees has cashed the check. At this time, I've received threatening letters in regards to a lien on my home. Below are text messages and emails about the matter showing the day I paid and when I contacted ****** stating I paid. Also the first email from ***** is given where he asked for my assistance. I also submitted a fraud report with my ****. The returned cashier check is evidence I paid their worker along with the receipt from the cashier check.Initial Complaint

This company, formerly known as NRC Commercial Roofing and Restoration, was hired by my HOA last year to install a new roof. While I did not work directly with them until just recently, there were many delays in beginning and completing the project.During their work, a stain appeared on my closet ceiling that wasn't previously there. It was reported by my HOA to NRC/Restoration Builders on Dec 6, 2021. A few men from the company came out, found the leak that had occurred where they had been working, sealed it, and took pictures. They confirmed drywall damage to my ceiling from the leak.I am requesting that they repair the damage at no cost to me. I have been trying to get this taken care of for months, but they are mostly unresponsive. In fact, they typically only respond when I threaten to file a complaint with BBB. After several attempts to connect with someone, I finally spoke with ************************* from the company, first via email and then via phone on March 10. He clarified what I was asking for and said he would send someone out the following week to look into it. I am still waiting to schedule that visit.This lack of concern for resolving their mistake is unacceptable. I would certainly never hire this company again.Customer response

The company was hired by my HOA for a roofing project. This project caused damage inside my unit. My HOA asked me to deal directly with the company when seeking reimbursement for the damage. The company was working with me directly to solve the issue before they became unresponsive.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.However, I would like to make it clear that the representatives of this business were extremely unresponsive to my attempts to resolve things, waiting almost a year to address the issues. They only acted when I threatened to contact the president of the company. I will avoid this business in the future, and I would never recommend that anyone use their services. Working with this business was a horrible experience.
