On Nov.12,2024 while Advocate was replacing the roof, I went into my attic to ensure the proper placement of my roof fans. This is when I noticed that there was severe damage to my plywood roof sheathing. I immediately went down and notified the contractor of the damage. He come up and took pictures and sent over to Advocate. I had contacted them and expressed my concerns. The nails they used was inferior to what was originally on my roof ( 3/8" head hot dipped galvanized roofing nails- Industry standard for superior protection). There were chunks of my plywood 3/8' X #/8' X 3' - 6' long broken out of my sheathing. They asked me what I wanted. I told them that they need to replace the damaged plywood. It is now Dec.9,2024 and I am no closer to getting any resolve in this matter. My plywood on my roof is 3/4' and there are SEVERAL areas now that only have 1/2 that thickness. This is a major concern for me moving forward. I feel that I have given them plenty of time to resolve this. To make matters worse, they did not replace the flashing on the east side of my roof and there is missing flashing on the west side of the roof. There also appears to be a roof leak. I was expecting the Hot-Dipped galvanized nails to be used on my roof because they offer the superior protection against moisture from being wicked up into the plywood. Also, the roof replacement on my shed was part of our agreement. It still has not been completed. There is also damage to my Gutter, Fascia, and Soffit. And there are nails in siding drip edge that were not sealed. I am very unpleased with the company's response. It seems that they do not want to make right on this. Before I signed the agreement, they ensured me that if anything went wrong, they would make it right. All I am asking for is to have all of the plywood that was damaged (it is a great percentage) replaced, the flashing properly installed, and the roof replaced without damaging the new plywood. I do not feel that this is too muchBusiness Response

We explained to Mr. **** that the building code requires a gap for water drainage, and we would provide step flashing and ice and water protection as required. Throughout our interactions, we provided complete and transparent answers to his queries. On November 12, 2024, Mr. **** contacted us during the build with concerns about the nails going through his decking. We immediately stopped the work and entered the home with Mr. **** to review his concerns and take photos. We explained that the nails going through the plywood are a code requirement, and we provided Mr. **** with a copy of the code requirements. With the ****************** representatives present with the team from Advocate Construction, Mr. **** said he would contact the Attorney General and the news if he didn't get his plywood replaced. On Sunday, December 8, 2024, Mr. **** called Advocate Construction and left a voicemail, sharing that he had gone onto his roof and found new concerns. On Monday, December 9, 2024, we returned Mr. ****** call and worked with him to schedule a time to meet and review his concerns. He agreed that Wednesday, December 11, 2024, worked for him to meet with us.On December 10, 2024, the Better Business Bureau notified us of this complaint. We kept our appointment with Mr. **** on December 11, 2024, and reviewed his new areas of concern, specifically flashing and fascia. We confirmed that we would present a scope of work to Mr. **** to address his concerns about the flashing and fascia, but based on our previous communications, we would keep the nails and the plywood sheathing the same. Mr. **** remained adamant about having us replace the plywood sheathing and use the nails he requested. During that appointment, Mr. **** informed us that he was looking for someone else to inspect his roof but claimed that even if that inspection found the same conclusion, he would continue to pursue his demands about the plywood sheathing and nails. Complaint: 22659452
I am rejecting this response because: The Company has made no attempt to resolve the complaint. Furthermore, after my investigation, the shingles were not installed in compliance with the Manufactures specification thus voiding their warranty. Also, after lifting 5 different rows of the shingles, deficiencies were found on every row. So, besides the irreparable damage they have done to my plywood roof decking, there is damage done to the brand-new shingles. It is evident that the air pressure was too high due to the nail going all of the way through the SURE NAIL STRIP technology that ***** Corning has. I do have several photos of evidence available for you to view if you request. I had a lengthy conversation with ****** ****** about what I expected from them before they commenced the job, and he agreed to all. When the job was started, I went up in my Attic to ensure proper placement of the roof fans. That is when I noticed how they were damaging my roof decking. I immediately went down and notified the ******* of the job. After taking pictures and calling his superior, he notified me that they had to continue and finish the installation and close the roof so it isn't exposed to the elements. They said they would address this later. So, now it seems that after destroying my plywood, and the improper installation of the shingles, that they do not want to make right. I paid them $6000.00 down and agreed to pay them in full on completion of the job. The problem is that with all of these damages and the roof on my shed not being done, I still consider the job not complete. The company had made a proposal to come and install the step flashing they didn't install and make some kind of repair to the Fascia and Gutter that they had damaged, but I can't agree to that unless they are going to correct all of the damages to my plywood decking and replace the shingles because they didn't install them properly. An *****-******* representative came to my house with an Advocate Construction Representative. She gave me the requirements for installing the shingles and their workmanship falls far behind their requirements. All of this is what led me to file this complaint. I am steadfast on having this situation fully rectified.
Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern,
The Better Business Bureau informed us of **** ****** response on December 16, 2024. We have made several attempts to resolve *** ****** complaints. We respectfully disagree with his statements and allegations for the reasons outlined below. On December 5, 2024, we met with *** **** and ***** Corning representatives at his home. During that meeting, ****** Corning provided *** **** with copies of the ****** Corning installation instructions for the type of roof materials he chose for his roof. The ****** Corning representative told *** **** that ****** Corning requires the nails to be a minimum of 1/4" and confirmed that the nails used by Advocate Construction are acceptable. The ****** Corning representative also confirmed that the nails will not void his warranty. *** **** disputed the instructions provided to him by ****** Corning. Instead, *** **** threatened to contact the Attorney General and local news if he didn't get his plywood replaced. We had lengthy conversations with *** **** before the commencement of the job. Every step of the processfrom signing the contract to appointing the adjuster and selecting materialswas thoroughly explained to *** ****, who acknowledged his understanding during each conversation. Complaint: 22659452
I am rejecting this response because:On August ******* I did enter into an agreement with Advocate Construction to replace my roof. Before the signing of the contract (Agreement), I asked ****** ****** if something goes wrong with the installation are they going to make it right. He assured me that most likely that nothing is going to go wrong, But, if anything did, that they would make right with it. I also told him that after they tear off the roof and start shingling and reinstalling the roof fan that they had to lift off, that I would be going up in my attic and inspecting to make sure they put it back in the same spot. He agreed. I also met with ****** ****** at a later date and selected the shingles that I wanted to use. I selected the ***** Corning Duration Shingles with the Sure Nail technology. They scheduled the roof replacement for November 12, 2024. They told me they would be there at 7AM in the morning. On that day, after 7AM come and went, I called the office and asked them if they were coming today because no one showed up. They told me that the crew was finishing up a job from the previous day, and they would be here by 9 AM. They finally showed up at 11:21AM. They were already more than 4 hours late to the jobsite. After they tore off the roof and started laying the Shingles, I went up into the attic and discovered the damage to my Plywood decking. I immediately went down and notified the ******* on the job that they were damaging the plywood on my roof. I took him up to inspect the damage and he then called the office. They instructed them to go up there and take pictures. I had a conversation with his superior a few minutes later. I asked him if they are going to replace the plywood that they had already damaged (Because they were only partially done) and he told me we would talk about it later. I told him that I wanted it replaced, and I would accept nothing less and I am prepared to go to battle over this. He told me that they needed to continue and close up the roof and we would discuss it later. When we did converse over the phone, a day.or 2 later, he was maintaining that they didn't damage the roof and that this is normal. I told him that my father was in the construction business and had built many homes and this kind of damage does not happen. I stayed firm on my request for them to replace the plywood because they damaged it. They refused. My next correspondence with them was that they were wanting an *****-******* Representative to come by and look at the roof. I agreed. The meeting was on December the 5th. The Lady who was the Representative, gave me the installation instructions for this particular kind of shingle. It details what size nails, and underlayment to use. They also detail what is proper nailing techniques and nail patterns (See IMG1595) that are acceptable. T the same time Advocate and her are stating that they used the proper nails. However, after they left, and I reviewed the requirements, I found out that they indeed did not use the correct fastener (See IMG 1593 - Fastener requirements). Also, they did not use the proper underlayment (See IMG1594). They installed felt paper instead of a Synthetic underlayment as required. Then the proper nailing techniques were not used (See IMG1581). There also is severe damage to the Plywood roof decking (See IMG1512).I contracted them because they claimed to be a roofing contractor and had seen them doing work in the neighborhood. I expected them to know the roofing business and expected a professional job to be completed. So, after more than a month of them not honoring their verbal agreement of "Making things right", I had no other option than to file this valid complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Also, I have an active leak on the roof that ****** ******** come by on December11,2024 at 12PM to investigate. I took him up in the attic and showed him that we can see daylight right through the bottom of the plywood along 2 different edges of my east roof. He tried to tell me that it was the soffit vents. I disagreed and explained to him that the daylight is coming from the plywood/Fascia connection. We then went down to the leak area where they tested and confirmed a leak at that location. So, it was December ****** that ****** ******** had called and wanted to come out and address some of the repairs. He was not willing to replace the plywood but offered to lift up the shingles and pull one nail out (IMG1581) and re-nail it. I explained to him that it was impossible to do that without damaging the shingle and I could not agree to any more damages to be done to my roof. I also explained that I lifted up 6 rows of random shingles and found discrepancies with every row. I told them I am not willing to lift any more shingles. 6 out of 6 speaks for itself. I told him I didn't hire them to do this kind of substandard roofing job and expect this to be righted. I feel that the Installation Instructions and my photos lay my case for this complaint and am hoping that this situation will be wholly made right. I forgot to mention that in the process of replacing the roof, they damaged my gutter and fascia and installed the gutter crooked and exposed my wood siding to the elements of weather (I have vinyl siding on my house). There are other discrepancies that I can also complain about. Then, my shed roof was not replaced as agreed upon. Also, It was agreed upon that they would replace the flashing where the bottom roof meets the side of the house on the east roof that was NOT REPLACED. I have many more photos to back up my claim. I temporarily covered up the leak to prevent any more damage to my sheetrock.I feel that my request is reasonable and should be honored. I was only asking to have my shingles replaced according to ***** -********* requirements. I am hoping we can resolve this issue.

Dear ***/*****,I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally address a series of issues and concerns I have encountered following the roof replacement conducted by Advocate Construction at my residence. The purpose of this letter is to request a resolution of these matters in a timely and satisfactory manner. On 07/17/2023, I engaged Advocate Construction for a roof replacement project at my home. While I appreciated the initial discussions and the promise of quality work, I must express my disappointment with the overall experience and the lack of follow-through on several critical aspects of the project.1. **Lack of Communication: ** Throughout the entire project, there was a significant lack of communication from your company. I was not provided with any advance notice of when your team would arrive or depart from my property. This lack of communication caused inconvenience and frustration.2. **Debris Cleanup: ** After the roof replacement was completed, there was a significant amount of debris and materials left scattered around my property. It is the responsibility of your company to ensure a thorough cleanup after completing the project, and this was not adequately addressed.3. **Unfulfilled Promises: ** Three months have passed since the completion of the roof replacement, and I am still waiting for the installation of the gutter guards and the repair of the screens, as promised in our initial agreement. These are essential components of the project that have not been completed, leaving my property exposed to potential issues.4. **Price Discrepancy: ** I have also become aware that the price charged by Advocate Construction for the roof replacement is significantly higher than the market rate and the quotes I received from your competitors for similar services. This price discrepancy has left me feeling unfairly charged for the services rendered.Business Response

Good afternoon, ************,
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We work diligently with our customers to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding a project. A few items were not included in your letter to the BBB; we will attempt to clarify and provide an update and resolution.
Communication -
In reviewing our communication log, it appears that we have tried to reach you by phone no fewer than six times. In two instances, you replied by text with set call times and then would not pick up the phone. Since mid-August, we have stopped by your home three times to meet, and you would not answer the door. At the last meeting at your property, we discussed matters with your spouse, but you were not home and not present for our scheduled appointment with you.
Debris Cleanup -
We started doing a debris cleanup, and your spouse asked us to stop and leave. We asked for a time that would be good to complete this and did not hear back from you. Our understanding is this has now been completed.
Gutter Guards -
Your product had a shipping issue, and we had to reorder the material. You were made aware of this, and we scheduled an installation for September 14 (which was completed)
Price Adjustment -
The price for your roof was what your insurance company proposed, and we accepted. If you have a concern, it needs to be with your insurance company. We provided all the work as the insurance company outlined in their scope of work and contract. ************* company provided you with these funds for our work; you are now obligated to pay the amount on the contract. I am rejecting this response because:Subject: Re: Response to Concerns
Dear ***/who may concern,
Thank you for your prompt response addressing the concerns I raised in my previous communication. While I appreciate your effort to clarify the situation, there are a few points I'd like to address regarding your response:
1. **Communication:** I acknowledge that there have been attempts to reach me and my spouse regarding the project. However, it just started happening right after this complain, as we know the date of service was July17th. It's important to emphasize that effective communication goes both ways. I recall setting call times via text, but there might have been circumstances preventing me from answering those calls at those specific times. As for the unannounced visits to my property, I would appreciate it if future appointments could be scheduled in advance to ensure my availability.
2. **Debris Cleanup:** Regarding the debris cleanup, I remember the situation differently. We did request a pause in the cleanup process, but it was due to concerns about the quality of work and the need for clarification on certain aspects. Unfortunately, we did not receive any follow-up communication regarding the completion of this task. I would appreciate it if you could confirm the status of the debris cleanup.
3. **Gutter Guards:** I'm glad to hear that the shipping issue with the gutter guards has been resolved and that the installation was completed as scheduled on September 14. I look forward to inspecting the work to ensure it meets our expectations. . This week (2nd week of September - two months after) someone suddenly came to my home and climb on my roof, while my wife was taking shower. Also, they placed broken gutter guard even I brought new one.
4. While I understand that the price for the roof was determined by my insurance company, it's important to note that many of the items, such as gutter guards or mold and crack repair work inside the bathroom, were not performed by your team. I have observed that the prices seem to have been inflated simply to match the total paid by the insurance company5. For the whole summer, my daughter could not use her window due to a missing window screen. It was a lot of mental torture rather than peace of mind, even though going with a reputed company.
I appreciate the information you provided about Advocate Construction's track record and commitment to customer satisfaction. However, as a customer, my primary concern is the successful completion of my project in a manner that meets our agreed-upon standards.
I am open to resolving these issues amicably and fulfilling my contractual obligations. However, I believe it is crucial that we have a detailed discussion to address the specific concerns I've raised.
Please let me know when it would be convenient for you to meet and discuss these matters further. I believe that an open and constructive dialogue will help us find a resolution that satisfies both parties.
Thank you for your attention to these concerns, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,

Good day, ************,
We are in receipt of your second BBB response received on Sept 18, 2023. As you know, we work diligently with our customers to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding your project.
Communication -
Thank you for acknowledging our attempts to communicate with you. We were surprised last week when you all of sudden didnt recognize your Advocate rep's ***** number and would not reply. Further, when we tried to confirm an agreed appointment, there was no response. Fortunately, we were able to meet with your spouse.
Debris Cleanup -
Our understanding is this is now complete.
Gutter Guards -
This was completed.
Price Adjustment -
The price for your roof was what your insurance company proposed, and we accepted. ************* company outlined the repairs in their scope of work and contract, and we completed the work as they required. ************* company provided you with these funds for our work; you are now obligated to pay the amount on the contract. We look forward to receiving payment.
Advocate Construction has been successfully completing projects for more than ten years. We do this by providing high quality and value to our customers. We hope we have addressed the issues you raised and shared some insight for the viewing/readership of the BBB. We have diligently tried to answer your questions and have fulfilled our contractual obligations as agreed with you and your insurance company, and we look forward to you doing the same.

Complaint: 20568641
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Advocate Construction,
I would like to extend my gratitude for your response dated 09/22/2023, which addresses the concerns I raised in my second BBB complaint. However, upon thorough consideration, I find it necessary to respectfully decline your response for the following reasons:
1. **Communication**: In your response, you mention efforts made to communicate with me. It is imperative to underscore that effective communication is a collaborative process involving both parties. I must clarify that I did not intentionally overlook my Advocate representative's contact attempts, nor did I fail to recognize their phone number. As a customer, I expect clear and timely communication from any professional service provider. I remain perplexed as to why it took your team over 1.5 months to initiate contact regarding my outstanding issues, which are yet to be adequately addressed.
2. **Debris Cleanup**: While you assert that debris cleanup is complete, regrettably, the work does not align with my expectations. Remnants of debris persist on my property, some of which I have cataloged and photographed for reference. These lingering debris pose safety concerns and require prompt resolution.
3. **Gutter Guards**: I acknowledge the completion of the gutter guard installation. Nevertheless, the installation itself left much to be desired, necessitating several follow-up visits for adjustments. These multiple visits caused significant disruption and inconvenience to my daily life. Additionally, some of the gutter guards were broken during the removal process without prior notification, prompting me to procure replacements. Such occurrences are unacceptable and should have been communicated in advance. So, my replacements of gutter guards could have been installed at that time. Moreover, the unannounced presence of your team on my property, particularly while my spouse was taking a shower, was a breach of privacy and wholly unacceptable.
4. **Price Adjustment**: Concerning the price adjustment, I must clarify that it is misleading to attribute the final price solely to my insurance company's proposal. The initial agreement was reached in collaboration with your company, and as such, the final invoice should accurately reflect our mutually agreed-upon terms. I request a comprehensive breakdown of all costs and charges, as I have noted unauthorized additional charges. Furthermore, certain services, such as gutter and interior work, were not executed by your team, yet I have been billed for these services, which raises ethical concerns.
5. **Customer Service**: I must express my profound disappointment with the level of customer service provided throughout this ordeal. The lack of responsiveness, the need for multiple follow-**** and the inconveniences resulting from unresolved issues have contributed to an overall negative experience with Advocate Construction.6. **Screen Fix**: It is concerning that there is no mention of screen replacement in the response provided. Your representative had instructed me to remove the screen for repair purposes, yet despite more than two months passing, the issue remains unresolved.
Given the aforementioned concerns, I kindly implore you to revisit your response and undertake the necessary actions to address the outstanding issues and deliver a satisfactory resolution. I maintain hope that we can work together to find a mutually acceptable solution to the problems I have outlined.
I trust in your commitment to upholding your company's reputation for quality and value, and I eagerly anticipate a prompt and substantive resolution.
Sincerely,

Call company to quote for siding replacement. Was pushed into going through insurance, as he stated they would not do the job without out it. Roof and siding replacement. Roof install went somewhat ok, we asked them to replace some decking boards (at our own cost) and they assured us they would. They did not. We have asked multiple times to have a copy of the contract/documents we signed to be sent to us. Each time the saleman stated he would send them over, but we still have not recieved them. This is now 11 months into the job. At the start of the siding, the incorrect material was ordered for 1 area. We ended up having to find our own and have it done, even though it was stated they could do it. While they were working on the siding, towards the end, they realized they didnt order enough material. And left the house partially finished, and unprotected. We had to make multiple call to have them come back and get the house wrap on before rain. Once the additional material arrived the siding was "completed". There were many issues from broken corners, poor workmanship on the lights, electrical that needed to be redone. Then the entire East wall of the house began to deform and pull away form the building. It was found that when they did the install, the siding was only secured to foam board. After months of fighting to get them to fix it they finally scheduled a day. A different crew arrived than the first, and needed to wrap the house with plywood to secure the siding to. Something the first crew should have known. But the damaged original siding was re-used causing more deformation. It was stated by an employee that the company had a meeting about the issue and didnt want to fix it. The salesman was very rude, and kept threatening us with insurance fraud. They refuse to meet with us to get this resolved. Only though quick texts or calls. Then they will send a random "employee" to the house to "look" or "work" on something with no notice.Business Response

Good afternoon,
Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding your project(s) with Advocate Construction. We had an opportunity to talk with both your sales rep and the production manager and are happy to share the following information.
As you know, your siding project is scheduled for completion on Monday, October 2. We are hopeful this will complete the project to your satisfaction. We apologize for the original material shortage. This can happen for various reasons, and we work hard to minimize this type of thing.
When we spoke to our sales rep and production manager, they were very surprised about the rude and threateningcomments you shared. They both feel that everything has been quite cordial, and spoke highly of you. Further, our salespeople do not threaten our customers; it's not how we do business. If there is a discrepancy,we always engage an Advocate sales manager or sales director.
Advocate Construction prides itself on delivering high value to our customers. Every once in a while, things dont go as planned. When this happens, we do our best to provide a solid experience to our customers. We hope after Monday, you will be happy and satisfied with the project. Thank you.Initial Complaint

To Whom It May ******************* accusations of forgery are blatantly false. A copy of the signed agreement as well as the signed scope of work (which was signed by *********************** more than 7 days later) is attached to view. We were forced to send a demand letter because ***** breached the agreement after we already worked with him and his insurance company to secure the proper scope of work. As stated in our letter to *****, we wish Marks to contact us so we can schedule his work to be completed. If ***** responds to our requests, we can proceed with completing the agreed-upon scope of work outlined in the agreement. If Marks wishes to cancel the agreement at this point (which is well after the designated cancellation time period), then Marks does owe Advocate the liquidated damages as outlined in the agreement we entered into. Below outlines the timeline of Advocate's relationship with Marks.
7/29/22 around 6:30pm - *********************** (our representative) met in person with ***** to discuss his project and how we could help.
7/29/22 at 6:38pm - Marks signed an agreement to have Advocate work with him. See Marks' signature on the agreement attached.
7/29/22 at 6:38pm - Email was sent to Marks' email ************************. The agreement sent to Marks includes language regarding how the agreement can be canceled. ***** did not elect to cancel the agreement.
8/8/22 - Toledo, a member of our field team, Marks, and the insurance adjuster met to review Marks' roof. Advocate was successful in working with **************** company to develop a scope of work that was approved.
8/8/22 at 6:26pm - Marks selected the color he wanted for his roof and signed on Advocate's scope of work / colors selection document. See attached. Notice the signature on this matches the signature on the signed agreement from 7/29/22.
****** called to try to set up the next meeting to pick up the first check, but ***** said he was unable to because his wife was expected to pass away.
Toledo and his manager, *********************, both called Marks numerous times and left voicemails without any response.
Toledo and ****** stopped by *****' home a few times.
9/21/22 - Marks greeted Toledo and ******. ****** and ****** attempted to explain to Marks that we were there to help him through the next steps. Marks slammed the door in our faces.
As stated in our letter to Marks and above, Advocate would like to work with ***** to complete the scope of work outlined in the agreement and the scope of work document.

I told him not to proceed.

When a Contract has been signed to engage our services, that customer utilizes our professional team to take advantage of the storm data review process we have perfected over 10 years, to have us perform damage assessment, and to meet with their insurance company multiple times over the course of several weekswhether in person or by phone. If we are successful in advocating for a full replacement, and our customer has received payment from their insurance company, then, according to the signed Contract between us, we have earned the right to perform the Scope of Work outlined in that Contract.
*********************** had no problem with his signature being on the agreement when we were advocating on his behalf for several weeks with his insurance company. He also had no problem signing the scope of work document and selecting the materials for his roof when it helped him receive a check from his insurance company. He also did not mention any issues with his signature on our agreement when he took the check to the bank and cashed it. This is a simple situation of dine and dash, and in this case, Advocate Construction has done all the heavy lifting for the project and has earned the right to be compensated fairly. In fact, the only time ************** ever even suggested he didn't recall signing an agreement (twice more than a week apart) was after we already secured the work and he already cashed the check from his insurance company.
There are at least 4 opportunities to cancel the Contract to avoid any out-of-pocket costs. However, once a homeowner receives a payment from their insurance company because of the work we did to determine damage, complete a detailed Scope of Work, and facilitate payment, in the ***************** that homeowner is obligated to compensate us for services rendered. The Contract allows for this either by (a) having us perform the identified Scope of Work, or (b) if the homeowner wishes to breach the Contract, then there is a penalty of either 33% of the value of the claim, or $5,000whichever is lower. If the person submitting this complaint has a letter from us requesting $5,000, then we were VERY successful in advocating for their claim, since our fee is capped at $5,000.
Lastly, the core values upon which Advocate Construction is based, and operates, include integrity and quality of work. Check out our reviews online. We have worked with more than ****** home owners and we are proud of the amazing work our team members do every day. We pride ourselves on a direct approach with our customers, as well as with insurance companies. This enables us to apply our expertise, our processes, and all our systems for the benefit of our customer, who then only pays their deductible amount.
When a customer reneges on their Contract, it puts Advocate Construction in a difficult position. We have invested a vast amount of time and energyoften several weeks, if not monthsto assist the customer in obtaining approval of the customer's insurance claim. When a customer chooses to pocket the insurance money they receive, and then breach our Contract, we must follow the Contract terms and demand the customer do the same.
**************, we encourage you to join us in valuing your integrity and your honor. It's worth more than the few thousand dollars you are trying to pocket from your tactics.Customer Answer

In May I had a *********************** stop by my home multiple times knocking on my door to ask me if I wanted to have my roof inspected for damage following a big hail storm in ********** *********. He came over multiple times and knocked on the door while my son was home alone And caught me on a day when I was home. I went outside to meet him and he asked me if he could inspect my roof for hail damage free of charge, I said sure. My neighbors were getting some roofing done by Advocate construction and I had made a comment to my neighbor that I probably should get my roof checked out too, I honestly didnt believe I would have this roofing company stopping by my house multiple times, over and over until someone finally answered after leaving their card for me to contact if I wanted to. ***** told me that I could get a hold of my insurance company and get an adjuster out to take a look at the roof and see if it even was going to be approved. He wanted me to contact them right away while he was standing there. He then made a comment about me that made me feel a little awkward and uncomfortable and then asked again if he could come in the house while I looked for my insurance companies information and I said no. After I sent a message and called my insurance company, he pulled out a little pad on a bright sunny day and told me to sign on the line. I asked him what it was for and he stated that it was simply stating that he was there today and discussed with me that my roof was damaged and that we were going to submit it to the insurance company to see if it was even approved nothing more than that, it was an absolutely not a contract of any kind. That is all he said, and he Did not read any of it aloud. It was bright and sunny so you could barely even see the line you were signing your name on. This company was dishonest and it absolutely was a contract that I signed and now they are contacting me nonstop and literally bulling me in to letting them do my roof.Business Response

On 8/11/2022 sales people were making illegal solicitations at homes on **************** in *********** ********. Police have also been informed and hopefully a fine will be assessed. This conduct is in violation of a village ordinance and has been repeated at least twice over the past two years, both times with a no solicitation sign visible. Both times after pointing out the no soliciting, the sales people became rude and aggressive. This type of behavior can lead residents to feel unsafe. Today, the man began yelling and was aggressive, prompting me to call the police and report it. He then stopped his truck in front of my home and photographed my home before leaving.Business Response

As an organization, we do our best to respect all homeowners in an area with active construction projects. In addition to this, each of our Sales Reps is required to have an approved solicitor permit for their respective municipalities. I am rejecting this response because:Solicitor was seeking new business. He wasnt making a friendly check on neighboring houses as the business disingenuously claims. Also we have a no solicitation sign on our front door right by the doorbell. The *********** ordinance makes it illegal to solicit homes with no solicitation signs. Based on the continued refusal to acknowledge the illegal solicitation, next time I see Advocate Construction i will call the police immediately.
