On June 27, 2023 I called Midas and got a quote for a power steering pump. I went in and **** the owner changed everything. **** soaked with wax top and under car for 40 minutes. He also said I need a new ************* for $5,000 then changed it to $1,000. My car could not drive. I live 60 miles away and he sent me 3 separate times on the freeway and I was almost hurt several times. **** soaked the electrical system causing it not to get over 30 miles on the freeway. I request a refund for 4 hours of terror. He never fixed the power steering hose-I went somewhere else.Business response

Spoke with my manager ********* Vehicle was brought in just soaked with power steering fluid basically all over the engine compartment. Informed the customer that we would have to degrease and dye the PS fluid to determine where the leak or in this case leaks where coming. While doing the degrease and dye water inadvertently got trapped in the *** Solonoid and connector. ************** elected not perform any of the power steering work and took the vehicle. The vehicle had a running re-issue. This is when the water was found in the *** Solonoid connector. So rather than drying it out **** thought it was best just to put a new one on at no charge. **** is not aware of the vehicle having any running issues after that. We will not be refunding **************.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: they damaged my vehicle by soaking it with wax. I have video if the vehicle stalking-3 times Midas lied it was fixed. Until I called the prior owner who owned a mechanic shop did he replace the part he destroyed. I should not have to pay. He could have spot cleaned by spraying instead of a f-I h garden hose. He never did work we agreed on because 4 hours the car could not run. I have a witness.

I am rejecting this response because: there was no dye used. They soaked the car for an hour on top and raised it to soak underneath. No one goes for car repairs to get killed. The car would not drive on the freeway-4 times they sent me putting my life in danger. They should have spot cleaned. It was already diagnosed as the steering hose before I went in. Thats what he said he would repair but never did because he soaked the electrical system.

I agreed to a refund and she rejected. From the communications it sounds like she rejected the offer, but still wanted the refund. The communication on September 22nd I received the address she wanted the refund mailed to. She is being paid through ********** which was processed yesterday. I called and left a message with ************** to explain and she didnt return my call. She will receive the check through ********** in 5-7days. I would appreciate if this complaint be strike from the record because the vehicle was repaired at no charge and the customer received a refund. Her proclaiming that the water ruined the part isnt necessarily true.The water only assisted a part that was worn to fail quicker. The engine was covered with fluid leaks and made if difficult to clean, thats how water got near the part.
