I had a 2014 ***** Sonic and I was having issues with the trunk, and an engine was sounding weird when I first purchased the car. It ended up breaking down once, and then again in the middle of the road. I believe it was in May when I had to have my vehicle towed to Campbell Trucking & H3135343731**33323531H. They realized it needed a new engine, and it took 1-2 months for them to fix the engine and do other maintenance work on the vehicle. I got the car back with a new engine and continued to drive the car. One day as I was driving on the highway coming back from work I saw black smoke starting to come from the front. This was just two weeks after getting it out of the shop. I pulled over to the side of the road, and a couple of minutes later it started to catch on fire. The cops and the ambulance came. My mom contacted the insurance company and I was told I would be liable for paying $5,000 o the loan because it was a leased car. There was also a fire inspector that came out, but I don&#**;t believe they were able to determine what caused the fire. I don&#**;t feel I should be liable for paying the $5,000 because Campbell Trucking & H3135343731**33323531H are the one&#**;s who fixed the car before this incident occurred. With it being black smoke coming from the vehicle I believe it was electrical and had something to do with the engine.Business response

We were given the work order from Americas Car Mart on May 25, 2023, to install a new motor in Mr. ******* car. ********* was supplied by Americas Car Mart on May 31, 2023. **************** was responsible for the $50.00 deductible. The work on the car was complete on June 7, 2023, and paid for by Car Mart on the same day, the car continued to sit at our business while **************** got caught up on his car payments. Americas Car Mart has a system on all their cars that allows them to shut the car off when the owner falls behind on their payments. We had to contact Car Mart to turn the car back on so we could move it around our lot.
**************** picked his car up sometime around July 4, 2023, we do not have the exact date. He drove the car approximately one month prior to the car catching on fire. We had heard nothing from him in that time frame about any problems with the car. After the incident his mother told us that smoke started coming out of the dash of the car first. We did not complete any work under the dash of the car. We do not feel like the issue that caused the fire is our fault. There fore we do not feel like we owe **************** any restitution.
