I joined Planet Fitness in 12-09-15. In 2020 I decided to cancel my membership because I did not use the membership. This membership was automatically withdrawn from my bank account. So in November of 2020 my account was no longer being charged for Planet Fitness, so I assumed that I had CANCELLED the membership. My checking account has been dormant, until I received notice that my account was overdrawn. In review, It was overdrawn by Planet Fitness's charges. I called Planet Fitness and explain that I had cancelled my account, I spoke to ****** the Asst. ******** He explain that the only way I could cancel was a certified letter or to go in the club. I explain that I was under the assumption that my membership was cancelled on Nov. 2020 . He explain that at that time due to covid that everyones membership was suspended for 4 months. I said I had no idea, I started to review my correspondence with PF and since 2015 I had 1 advertisement. I spoke to the manager ******, I explain the situation. I asked for my contract to be cancelled and a refund for the last 12 months. I explained that I was at fault but PF was at fault too. That in the seven years I was a member that I had no billing notifications. I was told no notices are sent to customers. Per Planet Fitness records, my last visit was September 08,2017. My membership was cancelled August 22, 2022. Lack of communication to customer along with their ability to see that customer has not used their service and refusal of any refund, is taking advantage of their customer. Once the membership was cancelled, they could correspond my receipt to me thru email. PF should not be allowed to take any money without providing any notice to consumer. I bear my responsibility to the situation. PF should also have an obligation to not take advantage of their customers. I would like a refund for **** months of membership fee.
