I entered into a renovation agreement in June 2022 that was supposed to take 6 months. According to the contract any disputes were supposed to be handled during arbitration but the contractor didn't obey the contract and instead placed a lien on my home in January of 2023 while she was still working on my home. Her workers were here well in to the month of March. The dispute is the contract called or all the windows with thermopane leaks to be repaired and the contractor did not do any of the windows with broken thermopanes. The contract required ceramic tile on the floor and the contractor used vinyl instead. A labor and material credit to account for the difference in installing vinyl vs. ceramic tile is in order. Now the contractor refuses to remove the lien and the mortgage company will not release payment until the lien is removed. I am not even complaing about the subpar work that was performed such as using indoor paint on my OUTSIDE porch stairs so after 3 months they were ruined, not complaining about the paint left on my hardwood floors. or the wall paint that was placed on the basement concrete floor.Just the windows, the vinyl instead of ceramic, and the removal of the lien is what needs to be resolved. i have been trying for months to no avail.
