On 04/6/2023, **************************** was contracted to complete repairs caused by hail damage on 04/04/2023. The contract was for roof repair, gutter replacement, siding repair, window wrap and bedroom ceiling repair. Work order was approved by ************************* and a check was issued on 05/09/2023 for $27,027.00 to be paid to the company performing services, in this case ****************************. The roof was replaced on 06/21/2023 and the gutters were replaced within the following 2-3 weeks. At that point all work ceased. I reached out to **************************** via multiple phone calls in September and October. I sent a text to the field supervisor, *******************************, on 10/31/23. She responded that she would look into the matter. I received a call from another **************************** representative a day or so later, who stated they would finish the siding, window and ceiling projects, but encouraged me to contact ************************* about replacing all of the siding so the colors match. 01/18 *********************** took a portion of the siding for color match stating he needed several weeks. I reached out Feb. via phone and **** stated they found a color match but no one came out. I reached out again the week of 03/25 by phone and by text asking for it an update on job completion. My AFI rep informed me that we needed the projects completed as it was approaching 1 year and he need picture proof. I left this information in the message. *********************** reached out on the 04/23, stated that the siding pieces would be re-attached and stated an invoice had been sent that I never received. He stated that the total due is $8, 469 the remaining balance for the roofing project. However, they have not completed all projects they were contracted for. As of 06/06/2024, the siding replacement, window wrap and ceiling repair have not be started/finished by ****************************.

      07/10/2024

C&N Construction completed the Roof and Gutters on this home per our agreement. Since the ***************** did not approve a full replacement of siding our Sales Representative discussed this with the homeowner and she expressed she did not want the interior work done. The 35SF of siding that was approved by the insurance company was also not going to be performed by our company. This conversation was in February. We will be discussing 7 piece siding repair with our production department and reaching out to the customer. The balance invoiced for the roof and gutter work is due and owning. We will be working on our end to come to an amicable resolution with our customer.

The original sales representative who no longer works for C&N promised the customer that we would replace the gutters on the property. The gutters were detached during the roof replacement and we will work with the customer to come to a resolution for attaching them properly or replacing them. Our Director **** did speak with the customer on the first of this month to discuss the gutters and the awning. The awning was not on the original installation agreement, but we are working with the customer to rectify the situation. We will be replacing the awning.

**** told them were not interested several times and they keep coming to our house. They dont communicate with each other. This is borderline harassment and were going to call the police if it keeps happening.

      Business response

      05/21/2024

This homeowner accepted the offer of a roof inspection due to the possibility of storm damage. Our rep. did find storm damage and then the homeowner said he wasn't interested after a few attempts to reach him following the inspection. It is impossible for us as a company to know who has passed by and knocked on his door. I'm sure there have been other contractors knocking as well as it is a saturated area due to the recent storms. We have notified the **** **** who inspected his roof to no longer contact ****************** and sent an email to our sales team to avoid his address out of respect of his request. ****************** can post a no soliciting sign as well to help. Please call us directly with any questions or concerns

I am rejecting this response because:

You showed up to our house multiple times even after we told you we were still getting quotes from other companies. Even after I told **** that we were not interested, someone else showed up THE VERY NEXT DAY.

Your employees work for you. You need to keep track of what addresses are visited so you dont revisit them. I dont need a no solicitation sign, you need to take responsibility and have your employees communicate with each other.

When you say its impossible to keep track of who knocks on our door, thats a lie. Its actually very easy to do. But you are too lazy to do it, and youd rather harass customers with your high pressure sales nonsense.

Every single interaction with your company has been unprofessional.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

It is not our intention to go back and forth with you. We are not lying or intentionally approaching your door after you expressed you are not interested. It has been noted and announced to every sales representative on our team to not approach your home. The day you called into the office we also relayed your message to the C&N rep you were in contact with. We apologize for the experience and will do everything we can to make sure you are not approached by one of our representatives again.

12/14/23 C&N installed a roof and did not properly re-sent the gutter guard system. Birds are now nesting in them and we are unable to clear the debris.

      Business response

      04/10/2024

We received final payment from this customer on 15 February 2024. A service request was submitted to the office on 18 March 2024. We scheduled for our service crew to go to the property on the 20th of March, our crew said the gutter guards were placed back, and it looks like there is a very minimal gap which they corrected as much as they could, it was nothing that a roofing crew had anything to do with. We performed the roof replacement on this home & gutter helmet, gutter guards only. Per our Director of production the gutter guards have a 3/8 inch gap that allows water to pass through while keeping out debris and animals. This gap is ideal for handling heavy rains and can handle up to 22 inches of rainfall in an hour, which is double the highest amount, ever recorded in *****************. The gap also prevent slots or screens from clogging. With that being said, our service crew did go out and close the gap as much as they could, in our professional opinion there is no true issue, although any small issue was cleared up. Our Director of operations neck also spoke with the homeowner and has been in communication since the initial service request was submitted..

We were able to connect with the customer on 11/1/2023 in regards to scheduling the completing of work. There was interior trades to be completed which required scheduling coordination between our labor staff and the customer. We have since completed the scope of work and have been in direct communication with the customer and have performed work to their satisfaction.
Initially there was much scheduling conflict and we have since worked with our customer to find resolution and complete the work.

Did not put storm flashing were to houses meet. They did not take siding off to install the flashing . Leak in my bedroom is not resolved if roof is not done right. My insurance gave them enough money to cover the problem . No one came out to check the workmanship to see if they were doing it right . I told them myself about the problem put still didnt do it right! .

The same day this customer drafted a complaint to the ******************** we had our crew on site to look at and address her concern, in our opinion a little premature.

The following is a response as to why this is not a valid "complaint" of our services/workmanship:

There is NOT  leak in the bedroom as she had claimed but she was concerned that it MIGHT happen.

The customer requested a gutter extension to be installed which was not pre-existing or listed on any paperwork, estimate or scope which we provided a retail quote for as it was not a part of her Insurance claim for her roof which we were contracted to do.

The gutter/downspout in question is in fact her attached neighbor's and therefore not covered by her INS company claim. We did provide ************** with a quote for the gutter and downspout that would provide solution to the rain water issue, we also advised *************** that this would be retail, not included in her insurance claim and in fact should be the financial responsibility of her neighbor, they could spilt the cost, either way, we installed the flashing, shingles and other components we were hired and paid to do.

Furthermore, her insurance adjuster told her the same thing regarding the neighbor's gutter and downspout at the time of the adjuster appointment. We would be happy to install the 14' of gutter and + 25' of downspout which totals 39' for the price given. ************** can discuss this with her neighbor, she can even go to the city to complain if she feels necessary and they will inspect the gutter and determine A) if it is REQUIRED to be adjusted and also determine B) who is financially responsible for the gutter/downspout update/extension. It is most certainly not C&N Construction's responsibility but, again, we would be happy to perform the work if hired and paid to do so.

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

*********************** You did a poor job regarding the flashing and water barrier between the two duplexs . Thats why I have water marks in my bedroom . I wish this company had a supervisor to come out to make sure they are doing the job right. No one came out . They are not reliable at all. You are hired to fix the problem not to make it worse. I will get an inspection out to look at what you did wrong.

      Business response

      08/22/2022

We are sorry you believe it we did not perform the job properly but we are in belief that we did and in fact had a project manager on site during the build. Once you have the third party inspect your roof please provide us with their findings. Your insurance adjuster, our company and your representative's manager have all notified you of what our expert opinion is before and after the build regarding your neighbor's gutter and do not believe it is a flashing issue. We installed everything that was required. We are looking forward to hearing from you regarding your third party inspection. Thank you.

C&N construction Was the roofing Business that seemed most promising to address the work. We signed a contract (uploaded) and went forward with the work. In the process they suggested that in order to get the permit and complete the job according to the citys code, Additional work would need to be added in order to deal with a window that would require carpentry work as the house is over 100 years old and that we would need to see how statefarm would handle this cost increase. It was my understanding that State Farm did agree to this new price, that was now over twice as much as the original estimate. ****** C&N Rep, assured me they had folded in the additional costs of the construction around the window, into the overall expense of the roof and that they had handled many insurance claims and that it was the way things were done. When the roof had been completed, they came to attempt to collect the full amount, however, no carpentry work has been done Around the window that had been discussed, nor the siding that was damaged, nor the beam that had been broken, nor the needed repairs to the drywall, eThey had hired the guys to do the roof and the roof alone. I therefore went back to the original contract, the only one that I actually signed, and paid that amount in full. ****, who now became our point of contact with C&N, as I could no longer reach ****** demanded that they be paid the higher amount. I went back to SF with this info, where there was lack of clarity, so they asked for a summary of charges for the work completed. C&N has still not submitted this to State Farm. Nevertheless, they put a lien on the house along with a threat to call the police for my delinquency in paying for the services rendered. I called the *************** threatened me accusing me of theft and ins fraud. SF, had approx. 9 claim handlers, that made it difficult to track w/.Devon came to collect another 8k which they s agreed wd remove the lein- but the lein remains

      Business response

      03/18/2022

This customer issue has been resolved. The lien was released on March 4th 2022 (document attached)
All work per our contract was fulfilled and a final check was picked up from the customer and we awarded her many credits for work.
Furthermore, she kept insurance funds and her insurance carrier is taking action against her for work that she kept funds for.

C&N Construction, Kosta Delakouras, showed up at my house offering to inspect my house for storm damage, I informed Kosta that I had been already dealing with the insurance company, I explained my situation, he told me, I was about to run out of time for coverage, he told me about all his companys certifications, which I believed, after he assisted to get approval of claim, without notice a roofing contractor showed up at my house with no C&N logos and with other contractors names on vehicles.the removal of the old roof went well, the installation from the ground appeared OK, but the shed was not roofed as agreed, so I informed them, and the roofers were sent to roof the shed, after they were finished with the shed, again a different individual showed up to do facia work on Saturday and Sun. unannounced, he worked, but did not finish, I inspect job and discovered numerous mistakes, C&N demanded payment before gutters were changed, threatened on filing liens, and other actions on me
