On January 12, 2023, my shower door exploded early that morning. The broken glass projected outward, and glass flew everywhere in my bathroom. The store owner ***** came to my home to inspect the door. He said that was not typical and it could have occurred because it was installed too tight. a few days later the store called to say it would cost $600 to replace the door and I had to pay half of the cost $300. The entire shower was installed April 2022. I explained it was not fair that I had to pay anything because it was not my fault. Plush it was a major safety issue as I could have been injured. The lady I spoke with said they are making me pay because they didn't know what happened to the door. Maybe a wall shifted, or it occurred due to how I closed the door. There is a window on that wall and two other pieces of glass in the frame. If a wall shifted (which is not possible), why did only the door explode. This is not fair to make me pay for something that was more than likely a default in installation or possibly even a defect in the glass itself. I'm sure they have insurance to cover the issue. Did they contact the manufacturer - maybe they would replace and maybe they would want to know about the concern in case of recalls. I had to pay approx $1450. to have the entire shower unit installed now they want me to pay more money for a defective piece of glass. I am filing this complaint because I want them to replace the door at no cost to me. It was not my fault - they should warranty their product.
