I own a small business, ********************* I have one refrigerated ******** ******** Van. It's been diagnosed with a bad Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) - which apparantly is a recall product across the brand. My ******* area ******** dealer has it backordered. I called many dealers across Michgian and ******** - and finally found the part at Knauz. The first available appointment was September 8th and the promised to hold the part for me and fix the van. I confimed everyting with a call on September 7th. When I arrived (after renting a truck to replace the van for a week AND driving 1 + hours) - I was told with a smile and giggle that the part was no longer available and that "they sold it on the market because the demand is so high"...yes, they had promised it to me, but decided to sell it for cash in instead. But they told me I could leave my van for an unspecified time until another came in. So I am out a full week of truck rental, have a broken van, and drove 3 hours total after confirming the day before. I belive they should install the part ASAP or if not refund the truck rental and time/miles for the drive. I can't quantity the cost of driving the broken van.
