      In April 2023 I received brake work on my rear axle ( left and right side ) where I had new brake pads installed. There was a promotion for a refund of $40 for one axle or $80 for both axles. on April 22, 2023 I submitted the refund to there refund division. On May 16, *********************************************************************************** the next 8 to 10 weeks. As of yesterday I still had not received an email for my refund. I emailed refund division about not receiving my refund within the 8 to 10 weeks. I was told they were having problems issuing out the refund. Is this promotion a fraud?

      I have sent this to the regional management of Midas. They will reach out and resolve. The promo was not fraud. We are very sorry for this, and it will be resolved.

      I brought my car to Midas in Lake Zurich, ** on Saturday, December 10, 2022, because the check engine light was on. Midas diagnosed the issue as the catalytic converter and advised it needed to be replaced. Since Midas quoted over $3,000, I decided not to have it repaired, as I knew my regular repair shop would cost less. Therefore, I had the oil changed and paid the diagnostic fee and took the car back. It's now Dec 12, 2022, and after getting gas, the check engine light disappeared. I was about to gave expensive repairs done that *** not be needed, therefore I'd like a refund of the diagnostic fee. I called Midas in Lake Zurich and was advised that the check engine light would most likely come on again within a week, therefore they would not issue a refund. I am taking my car to my regular repair shop and they will analyze to see what, if anything, needs to be fixed/replaced. I am requesting a refund for $116.19, which is the diagnostic charge.

      This vehicle came in with the check engine light on. As clearly stated and notated on the customers invoice, the vehicle had a PO420 code in the system which is in fact the failure code for the catalytic converter. Process directs that when that code comes up that there is indeed a failure within that component and it indicates that it needs/should be replaced. We followed the same protocol that any reputable automotive repair shop would and will follow. The fact that it's been almost 4 months later and the customer is requesting a refund for the diagnostic is something that we are not and will not do. The diagnostic was performed and the codes were pulled and traced and indicated and showed a catalytic converter failure. We do not refund diagnostics, especially if a code was found and traced. It is always the **************** to have the vehicle repaired wherever they chose. They did not repair the vehicle with us and in fact, as she stated, had the vehicle worked on elsewhere, which in turn immediately voids any type of implied warranty she may have had or thought she may have had.
