I was signed up for the 2021 ********************************. All Community Events offered the option to defer due to COVID, which I accepted. I was told I would be given a coupon code good for the 2022 event. The coupon code I was given does not cover the cost of the event. I was told that this is because I would get a coupon for the amount that I paid. That's fine...but I signed ** for the event in 2021...I should not be getting charged "late" signup fees for an event that I signed up for well over a year ago. All Community Events raises the price of their events the closer it gets to the event date in an attempt to ***** people into paying more. Clearly, it does not cost them more to have someone sign ** in December than it does in April. This is an unethical business practice.Business response

We reviewed ****** email thread with our customer service team, and we will transfer **** into 2022's event with no additional fees if this is what he would like.
**** mentioned that we ***** our runners, it is important to note that the cost of our events relative to comparable events is actually much lower. Running event companies in general (as an industry standard) charge less for runners who register early. Products and services for the event are ordered and planned out months prior to the event day, registrations that occur after these plans and orders are made get charged more as we are guessing on how many shirts, medals, barricades, insurance, police, and so many other variable cost products and services we need.Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
The response does not even address my complaint. They cherry picked one word and made it the focus. My issue is that they are charging me extra money for an event that I paid for IN FULL well over a year before the start date.As a side note: All Community Events claim that they are cheaper than the competition is flat out wrong. Ive paid similar amounts (and sometimes less) for runs with other organizations.
Sincerely,

We want to make **** a happy guy. It sounds like **** is looking to be transferred into this year's race without being charged any additional fees from what he paid initially. We apologize if we are misunderstanding as in our previous communication that is what we are offering. Please kindly advise.
We are cheaper though than 'comparable' high quality options and that is kind of just factual. We don't organize races on the cheap. For anyone reading this thread we have put two comparable races to ours below with price differences.
All Community Events ******** Half Marathon about $20 less than LifeTIme's ******* Spring Half Marathon
All Community Events Cocoa Classic about $10 less than the Chilli Run and the Santa HustleCustomer response

B***** Business Bureau:
Please advise me on how I can get refunded the extra money that I have already paid.
I did not mean to say that in general your events are overpriced. Some are more expensive, it's true. However, I would urge you to reconsider your progressive pricing strategy, which is what caused my frustration in the first place. If you charge $59 for an event six months before it happens, for example, prices should not then go to $69, $79, $89 etc as it gets closer to event day. Somewhere in those numbers is the price ACE needs to be profitable, and that's what the price should be, whether you register four months or four days before an event. If that were the case, I never would have had to make this complaint to the BBB because I would not have been charged more than what I paid all the way back in 2020 when I originally signed up for this event.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
