Has an ongoing issue with retaining (quality) or any staff: nurses, BHAs. Unsafe facility with kids running everywhere and jumping into ponds, adults trying to run in front of traffic, multiple lodge and body searches for contraband that should never had made it on to lodge. Kids and adults are extremely demanding and attention-seeking with many demands. There is police presence on campus nearly every day and night. People do get better but many struggle to get what they need.Review from TK S

I was a resident at Timberline Knolls in 2007. I can not begin to explain the trauma Ive had from being there. I STARTED smoking cigarettes while there, I had never even tried them before or considered it. I was not allowed to graduate without admitting to being an addict and have an eating disorder, I was there for depression and anxiety. I had zero substance abuse or eating disorder issues. There was much more abuse than TK has gotten caught for. I came out with so many more issues than I went in with. MAJORITY of the staff were temps from a temp agency and the overturn was unreal. My therapist was fired and escorted out by security in front of us, we never got the full story of what happened there but it was extremely suspicious. When I first arrived both adult and adolescent girls were kept on the same lodge. ** has admitted to one therapist sexually abusing girls but I can tell you FOR SURE that there was more and when we spoke up we were called liars. Adult male kitchen staff was meeting up with underage girls when they were on day passes and after they left TK. If I refused medication (that made me feel horrible) I was told that they couldnt force me to take it but I wouldnt be released until I did take it. I have worked with a therapist for multiple years now processing the trauma I experienced at Timberline Knolls. After I left TK sued my parents for more money (they had already paid in full). ** lost in court but my parents had to pay lawyer fees fighting them. I know of 5 other families that were also sued by ** later on, also after paying in full. TK lost all of the lawsuits. Think twice before sending your children there.Review from Karen B

This experience has been absolutely horrendous and dangerous for our daughter. The facilities are extremely unclean and run down. From filthy bed and couches to mold growing in the showers. Lack of staff caused for vomit to remain on the floor in the children's lodge for hours. Lack of PROFESSIONAL staff is of extreme concern, from a BHA giving the girls a vape nicotine pen, to an extreme lack of communication with the parents. We have tried to reach out to the clinical director and the *** to voice or concerns with zero response. There has been ongoing lack and false information given to our insurance company - in which they are launching a formal complaint. With that being said, the nurses and the Academy at TK were wonderful along with our daughters case manager. But unfortunately that will not make up for the ongoing problems. Our daughter came home in almost worse condition then before we sent her.

TK is a facility/program that I believe should be negligent for false advertising. My daughter did not receive wholistic services nor did she receive the care and treatment that was supposed to be individualized. They are very understaffed and services that were delivered were minimal at best. They couldnt even manage her meds properly! If you or a loved one is considering this residential program, think twice and do your research. I would never have my daughter go to this treatment program again! I feel horrible for sending my loved one here. When she came home I believe she is in a darker place. And for $1,500 a day for residential, you and/or your insurance are getting duked! Please read as many reviews as you can! And not on their website as the program is nothing like they advertise! They will be very pleasant and helpful to get you into the program but when you or your loved one gets there, youre pretty much on your own with minimal supports!
