I hired this company in May 2022 to paint my house. The work they did is subpar and has been bubbling cracking already and it is not fully covering all the siding. The splattered and spilled paint on the brick portion of the house, driveway and wood deck. They are now demanding me to consider the job done and finish payment however the job is not satisfactory. I have paid half (the contract stated payment due upon completion), which I did hoping they would complete this job. Also overcharging amount of hours spent on wood repairs.

We painted the customers house two months ago.  We have had every single employee and multiple crews try to work with the customer to get his job completed.  He always seems to not be able to meet the painters when they were at his house to approve the work and we hear days later about something else he has found.  I,the owner, finally tried to setup a meeting with him.  I wanted to bring painters with me so we could complete the job while he was there.  He was adamant about not wanting the painters there and only myself, so I met with him.  I asked what we needed to do to get this complete.  We found two small quarter size bubbles in some older layers of paint.  We also found a couple very small areas where the coverage had not covered the old color.  I found a soft area of wood as well as some caulking that I wanted done.  He said he wanted us to come back the next week to fix these, but he could not be there.  That has been a constant issue throughout.  He also pointed out that when the painters had cleaned up some drops of paint on the deck, the deck stain had come off.  He told me it was not a big deal due to the deck not being stained for a long time and that it needed to be stained anyways.  I left his house with the agreement with him that we needed to fix a couple bubbles in the paint, paint a couple spots where coverage was missed, and I volunteered to caulk and fix some wood at no additional charge.  We then came out and did exactly what we had agreed upon to complete the job.  I also had the painters check for any additional areas where coverage was not perfect, and we found nothing more.  I then emailed the customer asking for final payment and he again emailed me a few days later now saying he found new areas and he wanted the deck fixed along with the exact breakout of the wood costs and labor.  This is basically what has gone on for months.  I went out to his house and stained the deck board even though he said we did not have to.  We have also given him the material and labor cost breakdown.  When I asked where the exact spots he has still found, he cannot tell me where they are.  The customer has owed us $6,307.55 for a few months now.  We have no option but to take a course to try to collect what he owes us.

I am rejecting this response because: the owner is not factual in his response.   I have met with persons from his company.  Taken time off work to be home (on one day they did not show up and cancelled half an hour after saying they would be here).  There were more than two areas.  I have pictures after each time - video of them painting over dirt, poring paint in planted areas and still have paint spilled, splattered and dripped on bricks, doors and screen.  As well as places on siding that are still original color.  The owner has now filed intent to file **** against property even though work is not complete

      Sincerely,

I have written emails backing the facts that I have mentioned.  We also have already filed the lien against the property.  We also told the customer in writing when that lien would be filed.  We also sent a notice as a courtesy, even though in the State of ********, the notice does not have to be legally sent.  Again, I met with the owner and got a final list of things we needed to do to finish.  I also have that in writing in email form.  That list was completed, plus we touched up the deck even though the customer told us it was not necessary.
