      I went to the dealership on date 4/28/2022 to buy a chevrolet malibu at steve Schnmitt The price started out with ****** bergen down flate to twent three thoundsand even less trade in witch was fifty five hunderd dollars I wanted intend warrety and ******** nothing else they put add ons that I did not want when to come ***** to sign the papers i couldnt see the papers he said it was part of the deal I`am half blind and eighty years old ***** dis ablity have trouble reading i was told briong the papers home and read the small print i had truoble finding somebody to help me read these papers i finally figured out how this cost me they took avange of me and charge me for things i did not want when i finaly got help I know they robed me because they had ******** i was paying for the car + all the add-ons and I had to pay $27660.24 for the car and the numbers do not add up I want a Refund For all of the add-ons That I did not want

      Thank you for the follow up call, I did find the email and as you suspected it had gone to the Junk folder. It took me a minute to figure out I had to get it back to the inbox and get it opened to view.

      ****************** was in and purchased a used ***** Malibu on April 28, 2022. A few days later he returned to the dealership to have the ceramic paint coating he purchased applied to the vehicle as we had to arrange scheduling to get that done. This would be a clear indicator that he was aware that he did purchase that product. At that time he didn't make any mention of any issues or concerns. After what was probably a month or two had passed he contacted us and wanted to be fully refunded for all items he had purchased on the vehicle transaction. We told him we would be happy to assist him with the cancellation of the extended vehicle service contract, which he was very set on purchasing because he stated he might want to start traveling and wanted to make sure he had coverage on the vehicle. After the discussion he wanted to think things over and a week or so later  we helped him apply for a refund on any cancelable products that we purchased. The items such as the ceramic coating is a product that is actually applied to the vehicle so it isn't something that is cancelable. 

      I am attaching a letter from ***** Brubaker who is the Executive Manager at the dealership to provide more detail.

      I am responding to complaint ID# ********.  ****************** purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu vehicle identification number ending KF128857 on April 28, 2022.  He returned to our dealership a few days later to have the ceramic paint coating that he purchased applied to the vehicle.  At the time he made no mention of any dissatisfaction concerning his purchase.

      ****************** did contact us a few months later and we met with him and advised him that canceling products was an option.  He wanted to think about that and a week or so later we helped him apply for a refund for any cancelable products.  ****************** completed his purchase in April with veteran salesperson  whose interest is in making a transparent sale that acquires and remains loyal customers.  The business manager presents the value in products and makes sure the customer understands all terms and conditions.  The transaction was completed in a manner exactly like is repeated hundreds of time each year by our loyal customers.

      I am disappointed that ****************** continues to feel as though he was taken advantage of, however it has become apparent in our discussions that family members are fanning the embers of buyer's remorse.  I feel the dealership has treated ****************** fairly and his complaint lacks validity.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Dear Sir or Madame,

      In response to the reply given by ***** Brubaker and his dealership, as to me understanding fully about the add ons because I scheduled an appt to have the ceramic paint coating applied to my vehicle. I disagree with that. I understood the salesman to say that it would be done free and that is why I went forward with it. As to his comment about my family fanning the embers of buyers remorse I have already stated that I am ******************************************************************************************************************** $27000.00. My daughter lives in Alabama, so I sent her all the papers I was given at the time of the sale to review and explain to me why the vehicle I had purchased was more than what the salesman and I had discuss. My daughter called me after reviewing the paperwork and informed me of all the add ons. Hence the reason for time between buying and contacted them about my complaints. I was not aware I had purchase all these add ons. It was late in the evening; I was tired and could not see well. Personally, I feel that the salesmen took advantage of me because I had stated to the salesman that I could not see the computer screen or hear well repeatedly. I was told not to worry about it, just standard stuff in buying a car.

      So, I reject their position.

      In response to the latest claim from ******************, we have assisted him on processing the items he purchased that could be cancelled such as the vehicle service contract (extended Warranty). The Ceramic application as well as the windshield treatment and the interior treatment that were applied to the vehicle obviously can't be removed from the vehicle and therefor are not cancellable and refundable. We do follow a very repetitive process in the finance office in the offering of all products and disclose them to the consumer. This process is very transparent and the dealership did not wrong ******************.
