On 6/25/24, I was mailed a check in the amount of ******* for my vehicle loss on 6/14/24 from Allstate Insurance company. I cashed the check on 7/12/24 at my bank. On 7/17/24 the check was returned in the amount of ******* which resulted in my checking account going into a deficit of ****** and resulted in bank fees. I immediately called Allstate insurance customer service number at **************, since I discovered my account was overdrawn due to the returned check at approximately 6pm on 7/17/24. I spoke to *******, a CS agent for Allstate insurance company. I asked ******* why the check was returned. She stated there was no notes to why the check was returned and she said the check was returned by the claim specialist agent, ***********************. Ultimately, I was left in a predicament of having to scramble to try to find money to cover the charges that was coming in to my account to cover my mortgage, life insurance, cellphone charges, etc. to avoid additional charges due to insufficient funds. Mr. ****** made no attempt to contact me prior to the return check posting to my checking account to avoid the emotional distress that was caused from this unexpected returned check. I have a medical condition that I am not supposed to be under any stress and this situation caused a huge amount of emotional distress and stress. Mr. ****** was negligent in not exercising due diligence to contact me that the check was returned. According to *******, Mr. ****** returned the check the same day that the check was cashed on 7/12/24, which was 5 days prior to the check being returned and causing my checking account to be overdrawn. Mr. ****** had ample time and opportunity to contact me timely to avoid the stress and emotional distress caused by his negligence. I am requesting compensation for all fees incurred due to Allstate negligence and emotional distress caused by this intentional act of deception by issuing me a check that was returned and not notifying me properly.
