      Bath Planet by BCI Acrylic Years in Business:30 Date of New Ownership: 11/9/2021 79 complaints closed in last 3 years 41 complaints closed in last 12 months Alternate Business Name Leaf Home Enhancements, LLC They told me the VA would pay for everything. That was a lie. They told me they had trained guys to do a professional install. that was a lie. They said they would replace all the pipes with new pex. that was a lie. They hooked me up with financing when I wanted to pay cash. They said 100% would fix any issues. that was a lie. Currently dealing with an old leaking pipe supplying the hot water to my tub because they didn't replace it with their subcontractors when they did the install and refused to fix it after breaking it with the install. They should have replaced and fixed with the 2 contractors who looked at it after but the contractors said the lifetime warranty didnt cover the pipes they should have replaced on the install job that they subcontracted out and took 2 days for the subcontractors to figure out how to do the install and a 3rd day to do it. So now I have been defrauded of ***** on a top of the line tub that got switch to a different model at the last second. So now I'm open a bait and switch case with the *** and a fraud case with the *** since it has been weeks now and no one is going to fix this.***********************************************************************;

On 8/30/2024 Leaf Home Bath completed the installation as contracted. On 8/14/2024 Leaf Home Bath did update the Walk-In tub style at no additional cost to the consumer and on 9/6/2024 we did process a reimbursement for customer satisfaction as a good faith effort to resolve the matter with the consumer. We have fulfilled the obligations of the contract in its entirety.

I am rejecting this response because: the company lied about almost everything. See pictures of undone pex replacement and leaks from damage and tub installation. Company bait and switched me lied about professional installation as it was sub contracted. Lied about price on several occasions causing several changes as the va was never going to take over payments as **** ******* told me when I signed for the tub with marble counter. These lies are currently doing water damage to my basement and cost me 2000$ better offer from ******* who will call me back Monday to see if they can help fix what leaf broke. I tried to look up the tub they installed as the lied about the changes as well and never told me why they dumped another tub instead of the top of the line icon brand I paid for.

I am rejecting this response because: you can see here bath Planet failed to replace all the pipe with pex pipe. **************** guaranteed when I signed as well as all pipes replaced with pex. The house has all new except where they failed to finish as well as breaking an older pipe which would be included in the word all. To fix this would cost thousands and take a professional plumber. Please honor the words of **** ******* while your at it install the icon agreed upon as. This has a shower head which according to **** can get moldy and was not supposed to be in this model as **** said the only difference was the jets not the showerhead.

08/01/2024 Bath Planet came to our home to give us an estimate on a shower redo. The salesman ***** ****, was very pushy, argumentative and disrespectful but we finally agreed on a price of $11K which was a lower price due to several discounts ie: military, senior and hospital worker to redo our second bathroom shower with a 2 year no interest agreement. However, when we signed the agreement on the computer the salesman had with him the agreed on price of $11K was not mentioned or any other price. They never sent us a paper copy of the paper work until after the work was complete which was 8/15/2024. Called the company 2x and finally got a call back. Paperwork was $13K which was $2K more than verbally quoted price. The 2 year same as cash wasn't listed either. The install was complete. Received a text saying to text to accept the price of $13,750, then second text of $12K, didn't reply to either since it wasn't the agreed upon price. Called several times to discuss this with the company but they have yet to reply. 9/01/2024 we had a leak from that new shower install that came through the wall and floor into the dining room. There were puddles on the floor in the dining room and hallway with paint blistering on the wall of the dining room and water leaking through to the basement. We have called several more times with no reply again.

Our Regional Installation Manager has been attempting to contact the consumer by phone to schedule service since 9/11/2024 with no return call from the customer to date. The last attempt to call the customer was done again on 9/13/2024.  We are eager to resolve this matter and ask that the customer please contact us at their earliest convenience so that we can schedule a service inspection and address any outstanding concerns they may have. Our records also indicate that the consumer accepted the terms of their financing by responding to a 6-didgit text code that was sent to them by the lender; therefore it was completed electronically to fund the loan. We request that the consumer contact our Regional Installation Manager to reach an amicable resolution.

On 6/28/24 we contracted with ********************* of Bath Planet of Chicago to replace an existing shower. Price was more than$11k. On July 11 they did the work. Upon inspection I found they broke a floor tile ( into many pieces) and sloppily put some white glue globs type substance in it to hold it together. And actually it was2 floor tiles broken. I reported this to the lead installer while in the bathroom. Note he did not inform me - so likely hoping I didnt see it. He informed me that they had a hard time removing the old shower and he told the install manager about broken tile and I should contact service. I reached out to ***** on 7/11 and again 7/13 and he responded to my second email with service number indicating they have an out of this world service department. I called service at least 4 times in the following weeks, including leaving voicemail for install manager ****** ( whom the messages were supposed to be going to) and a follow up email to ***** indicating I was getting no response.. I have had no response from **** or ****** the install manager and no one has contacted me to address this issue. I cant replace floor tiles. And the goop they put on it is white globs and part is stained yellow. It looks awful. The broken tiles ruins the entire floor and this needs to be replaced.

I am rejecting this response because: they are not waiting on my response, but have stopped communicating with me. On 8/31 *****, installation manager contacted me initially offering cash solution which I could not accept as I need the tiles repaired/replaced and have no idea of the cost. ***** said they dont fix tiles and provided me contact phone # for *****, a tile professional he recommended, who would find tile and install. ***** came out 9/2, after the Labor Day weekend, said he needs few days to find tiles. After one week with no response I contacted ***** on 9/11. He responded he did not find tile and told me *****, install manager from **** Planet, contacted him, that ***** found tiles and would contact me. Next day 9/12 **** from bath planet came to my house but tile was not a match. **** said hed find tile that day or next day. I called 9/13 and left message for ****. No response. I left message again 9/17. This issue is not resolved and needs to remain open until Bath Planet fixes/replaces tiles they broke during installation. So far communications from Bath planet are D minus. I feel they are only responding because BBB is involved.

      Sincerely,

      **** Hamby

Bath Planet of Chicago's dishonest salesman misrepresented their services:1) After their patented high-pressure, bait-and-switch sales pitch, he said the contract is "in your email." It wasn't, and because he purposely didn't leave his full name or phone number, I had to ****** Bath Planet and call multiple subsidiaries to track down my contract and warranties. Ironically, none of the respondents would divulge their last names exposing a sleazy dishonest enterprise. I didn't receive the contract until AFTER the job was "completed." 2) He declared their workers were Employees and Certified Master Installers. No, they were unqualified independent contractors who arrived in a rusted-out unmarked van. The installation is unprofessional and unacceptable: The paneling is bowed (not flat) because the installer, lacking the proper expertise, declined to cut the tile to fit.3) He assured me my home and worksite would be protected from demolition dust and damage. Instead, the careless installers left a mess behind (inside and out), seriously damaged the floor tile in both bathrooms, and scratched my new vanity, among other miscellaneous damage.4) The "Installation Manager," ***** (Last Name withheld) ignored my daily complaints and photos for a week until I refused to approve the job and declined his "substantial" offer of $500, whereupon he threatened to withdraw the discount and send the contract to their legal department.Bath Planet's fraudulent business practices are evident in the countless one-star reviews and constantly recurring complaints.

      08/26/2024

On 8/21/2024 we sent our service technician out to do a service inspection. It was found that the installation was completed as contracted and the system is working as intended. The alleged damage was not caused by the installation, as there was pre existing water damage and rot with both bathroom floors and is not the fault of Bath Planet.

I am rejecting this response because: 1) BathPlanet commited Consumer Fraud salesman lied about the qualifications of their installers and the validity of the Good Housekeeping 2-Year Moneyback Guarantee, failed to provide the contract (and warranties) for review within the required statutory time frame, and misrepresented the worksite guidelines with regard to potential damage and the detritus left behind; 2) The "Certified Master Installers" (unlicensed incompetent independent contractors) caused unacceptable damage (breaking 27 floor tiles and dislodging 109); 3) The inspector on 8/21/24 acknowledged that two bath panels were improperly installed (bowed) and that he would return to reposition them.

I am rejecting this response because:

BathPlanet's insincere"good faith resolution" consisted of paltry monetary compensation and a carefully worded statement calculated to avoid having to repair their shoddy workmanship, once I signed their self-serving "Change Order." Like their "2-Year Moneyback Good Housekeeping Guarantee," it's meaningless. The fraud perpetrated by their con-artist salesman; the damage caused by their jackleg installers; and the glib, no-accountability stance taken by corporate mafioso tells you all you need to know: Top to bottom, these are despicable grifters.

One way or another, justice will be served.

I called "jacuzzi bath remodel of Chicagoland" for an estimate on a shower install .On April ******* ********************* came to my house .We listened to his pitch, and i specifically told him i was going to install a frameless shower door and would need 2x4s up both sides centered on the threshold to anchor into. ***** assured me that the installer would do that. Installers came on June 9th and i reminded them twice during the install and asked at the end if they put 2x4s in. They said yes. I finished the rest of the bathroom myself while waiting for my door to come in. I spent all day sat.aug.3rd putting shower door together The two glass panels weigh about 80lb. a piece. When i tried to anchor the rod that carries the 160lbs.of glass there was no 2x4s just drywall. I have no idea how to fix this but tear it all out and start over. I cut the rod for this specific opening so its junk.

I am rejecting this response because:
Hello, my name is **** ****.
I received an email from you last week (August 30, 2024) stating that my case was closed, because I didnt respond in time to the companies response to my complaint.
I didnt receive a company response, your Aug.30 email was the 1st time that I saw it.
In that short company response they said that 2x4 backing to install my frameless shower door was not in the contract, where I agreed to pay them ****** for 1 days work. As stated in my original complaint the salesman, ***** *****, assured me that the installers would take it down to the studs. He said they had a fully stocked truck w/2x4s, plywood etc. Adding the 2x4s would not be an issue. Thought I was dealing with professionals so saying that was out of their scope of work is ridiculous. I could have done it in under 10 minutes, so I reject their response. The one time I talked on the phone to ***** and ****** they said they would help me come up with a solution to which, I never heard from them again.
I have a background in construction so I knew what I was needing to do.
Since the bathroom is in the hallway and we have bedrooms on either side, I would need to go through the walls (which nobody wants to do).
The 1st bedroom I opened up had a double wall. To allow for a cast iron pipe, I had to split a 4x4 down to 2 1/2, and buy a special tool to drill and s**** @ 90 degrees.
The other bedroom wall, they had actually installed a 2x4, but it was too short by 1 1/2.
The anchor hole is hard to see in the pictures that I attached so it is circled.
If you have any further questions please give me a call at ************.

      Sincerely,
      **** ****
