    On April 6, 2021 we made a $9,000 payment (50% deposit) to Sunroom Designers, then did not hear from them for several months. We have had to make multiple phone calls to get in touch with someone. Finally they sent some workers in mid-August (approximately 4.5 months after our downpayment) to dig a couple of holes and pour some concrete. It's now been nearly another 2 months and we cannot get in touch with this company. They have not answered the phone for weeks, have not returned our voicemail messages, and are impossible to get in touch with. They had originally promised that our sun room would be completed in July. At this point my wife and I are worried that they are planning to abscond with and keep our $9000 and not complete the work, as they refuse to answer their phone or return any of our phone calls. We are also worried about their professionalism and ability to complete the work on our sun room at this point as well, as things have been handled so unprofessionally thus far.

    Where do we start? We didn't realize 5 years ago, that the windows and screens were not secured in when the sunporch was built. He barely showed up and let the inexperienced workers do the job and had many excuses why things were not done properly. When the derecho happened, this past summer, we had a window blow out and contacted the company and they discovered none of the windows had been secured in. The roof was leaking buckets of water. He was supposed to order panels to repair the roof. He did not put any new panels up after paying upfront. He "patched" one of the panels which has continued to leak. When pictures were taken it looked like flex steel tape was their "fix" and after paying close to $10,000 we still have leaks. He cannot be reached - have called several times, he doesn't call back. Very disappointed. The invoice shows that he replaced and installed the same roof with all new roof panels and fascia. FALSE. The invoice also charged for a new window that had blown out from the storm. The window was fine and put back in. NO NEW WINDOW was replaced. SCAM. He was also going to charge $1200 for a new door that was put in the wrong way in the first place, but after saying we would not pay for the new door, he did put in the new door. He did secure the windows from when it was built. So, basically, he stole money and did not do the work. Zero stars from us!

    Yes, where do we start? Not much of this complaint is accurate. The owner of this business is just that, The owner. He is not one of the construction workers, he is a very busy man and cannot possibly be on-site for every job we do. The worker you're claiming is "inexperienced" has been working in carpentry for 20+ years and had been working with us for 8 years. He's a very experienced man. A horrendous storm had come through the town and tore up multiple buildings, rooftops, ripped siding off of houses, broke and blew out windows, blew barns apart, crushed grain bins, pulled trees out by the root, and more. one of our windows was blown out, not damaged, so we reinstalled it at a nominal fee. A tree limb fell on the roof, we replaced the damaged panels with new panels and new fascia as described in the contract, no flex seal tape was used. As for the door that was "put in wrong", it was not installed wrong, however, in the customer's opinion, it did not open the "correct" way. so we installed a new door valued at $1,200 that opened in the opposite direction at no charge to appease the customer. Saying that we could not be reached is frankly disrespectful to our receptionist, who you spoke to multiple times a week as she answered your calls and called you back when you left a message, talking directly to the owner is not often possible, as again, he is a very busy man. Being called a thief is highly offensive and inaccurate, as we have records and receipts to back our claims. We've worked very diligently to provide beautiful quality rooms at affordable prices and often, as with this case, go the extra mile without charge. The work was done, as you have a beautiful Sunroom. Storm damage and other weather-related disasters are beyond our control.
