      On Sept 27, 2021 I found myself in great tooth pain and needed a dentist close to my home asap. I found McHenry Family Dental and Dr ************** was able to see me on the day. She told me I need 2 teeth extracted, and she proceeded to do so. As I was about to leave she told me I needed 2 bone grafts as well. I told her I wanted time to think about it and call my dental provider to check on coverage. She told me I had no time to waste and she needed to this it immediately. She asked me to sign some paperwork and I reluctantly did against my better judgement but she insisted. She went ahead with the two bonegrafts and I paid her $800. She told me I owed her a total of $1592. The following day I called my provider and the bone grafts were covered under my plan, but she began calling my home harassing me for payment. The bottom line is my dental plan covered some of the work she did leaving me with a balance of $1801 less $800, I paid, a total balance of $1001.00 But I never heard from her again. She never sent me a bill so I assumed my insurance covered everything. Now Sept 22 I receive notice she is going to *** me for non payment. I offered her the balance but she says she wants $2885 which is well over the initial charge. I never went back to this dentist as after reading the reviews it seems she tends to over bill, double bill, and so forth, so I had the work completed elsewhere. Now, she seems completely unstable and claims she sent me monthly statements. I have never received one invoice from her. She is threatening me and my family and now I receive paperwork from some private detective stating I signed paperwork while in the dental chair. I told her I was under duress and wanted to go home, but she would not allow me to leave claiming urgency. My health care provider had is***s with her double billing, then using different codes for the same procedure...I offered her what my provider and I figured out...$1001.00 but she says she wants $2885 plus addl fees??

      Complaint: 18122464

      I am rejecting this response because:  False claims have been made against my good character.  I have not heard from this Dentist, ****************************** in over 12 months!  She states she sent out monthly bills, but that is also false, as witnessed by my mail carrier.

      She also wrongly included my ex wife in the complaint.

      I firmly believe after reading reviews and having only one visit I decided never to go back to this dentist again. My insurance company paid for the visit and work performed on my only visit, but she has now included addl charges, ie exams, x rays, etc which is all covered by my insurance.

      I have discussed this at length numerous times with ****************** and she has double billed, double coded, and they found her tactics questionable. I have no issues going to court as I have 2 witness's to testify on my behalf.  She also 'bullied' me to sign paperwork, under duress, and immense pain, then she went on to do a second procedure after I wanted to go home and rest.  My health care provider stated in no uncertain terms that the second procedure should have never taken place on the same day as 2 extractions.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

      Complaint: 18122464

      I am rejecting this response because:  As is my understanding with ***************, I was told there was a settlement being discussed.  If this is the case let me know asap, otherwise I have no intention of continuing this disagreement.  UHC has paid what was deemed necessary.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

      Occurring twice now: I was quoted a cost of services in house which I paid. I then was sent an additional **** afterwards stating I owed significantly more money due to insurance coverage. I have always been billed afterwards at other establishments not before so that pricing was accurate. In my opinion the way that they estimate charges is not the correct way to go about it.

      Good Afternoon,

      Our patient ********************* presented to our office for his confirmed dental appointment on 05/05/2022. ***** was scheduled to have an exam, xrays, cleaning, filling treatment and crown treatment all to preformed on that day.  ***** is aware our office policy is to collect any anticipated patient portion due at the time the services are rendered. ***** gave verbal and signed consent for treatment for all services (exam, xray, cleaning, fillings and crown treatment) at the time of his appointment on 05/05/2022. Our office collected a patient portion from ***** at the time his services were preformed. The amount collected was based on what his dental insurance coverage and coinsurance percentages are. After receiving ************************* **************** Explanation of Benefits for services provided on 05/05/2022 it was shown that ***** had reached and exceeded his maximum dental insurance allowable benefits for the calendar year and he would have a remaining balance due to our office. We cannot offer ***** any additional discounts since he has already received his dental insurance customary discount rate for PPO adjustment (***** was given a $908.00 PPO fee discount off his total ****). It is against the law to add any additional discounts. ********************* is held responsible for the remaining balance on his account that his dental insurance did not pay for. ***** is aware of our office financial agreement policy. ******* dental insurance also deems it patient responsibility for the remaining balance due as noted on his explanation of benefits. On 06/16/2022 ****** from our office did contact ***** and let him know the balance that was due to the office and also offered ***** a payment plan option to help split up any payment if needed.

      * ************************* Ledger 05/05/2022
      * We have attached ************************* signed and initialed Financial Agreement Policies
      * We have attached ************************* **************** Explanation of Benefits from services provided on 05/05/2022
