I took my car in because my heat was blowing out cold air. After sitting at the dealership for over 5 hours, I was told they needed to replace the actuator and complete coolant flush. They put me in a rental because the part was not in stock. I picked my car up 2 days later the heat was working. After driving the car for 2 days I turned on the air and heat was blowing out . I had no issues with the air working and as of today when I took the car back in I was told Oh' the air condition works but their is more than one actuator and that something is getting stuck so I need to replace the heater box. I took my car in to get heat fixed an now my air does not work and they are telling me I have to pay for the additional work that they messed up. I had no issues with the air not working until they worked on my car.

    Al Piemonte Nissan, Inc. Response

    05/30/2024

This is my previous response to the IL Atty ******* on 01-03-24:****************************** brought her 2018 Altima to our ****************** on 11-08-2023. She stated that the heater was blowing cold air. Attached is Service Invoice #****** which details her complaint and our repair of the heating system. *************** states in her Consumer Complaint to the Attorney ******* that the only problem she told us about was the heating system. Therefore, that is what we repaired. Unfortunately, *************** did not know that the air conditioning did not work either, which is difficult to notice in winter. Nonetheless, she did the right thing in contacting Nissan ************* to ask for assistance, which she notified us after the repairs were made. When Nissan ************* declined to pay for the repairs, *************** spoke with ***************************, Parts and Service Director, and he explained that the heater and air conditioning were two separate concerns controlled by the same part: heater box recirculator. *************** declined to replace the heater box per Service Invoice #******. ******************* told *************** that we would credit the replacement of the heater box by the amount she has already paid. The heater box replacement is $2800 (plus taxes and misc charges). We would apply a credit for the payment she made on Invoice #******, bringing the total to replace the heater box to $2050 (plus taxes and misc charges). She said she would look at her finances, and get the repairs performed before April. Ms ******* requested relief cannot be accommodated, as we did not create further repairs. We repaired her vehicle per her complaint. We also understood that knowing the air conditioner was also affected is hard to determine in the winter. Thus we extended her a credit for previously paid services towards the future repair/replacement of the heater box, and she agreed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.Sincerely,*********************************** Controller
