I have a car loan through this company. I will not have a car loan with them soon; I am refinancing it. My experience with IHMVCU has been a total debacle since my loan's inception in 2021. And now, digging through records for the refi, I find this company charged me TWICE--over $8,000--for insurance when the vehicle has had full coverage without a break in coverage since the day I bought the vehicle. They claim they sent me letters, but neither I nor my insurance company received any letters asking for proof of insurance (and my mail goes to a secure mailroom.) I wonder how many other customers they simply tack this fee on without the customers noticing, and the customers just keep paying on their loans? Sounds like a great way to skim money to me. If I could, I would give IHMVCU zero stars. How do they possibly have an A+ rating with BBB? Read these reviews.Review from Brandon T

Credit union has gone down hill. **************** is almost nonexistent anymore. Back of their debit cards say for 24 hour service call except its not 24 hour service and it just says leave a message. When I brought this up when they deactivated my card because I accidentally punched in wrong PIN number once, they just kind of laughed it off like yeah we dont have 24 hour service anymore. Maybe stop worrying about all these fancy new buildings with gyms in them and maybe go back to focusing on your customers. I could write all day how bad this place has gotten as other have mentioned, not returning nsf fees when its not your fault. I went to online banks and none of them charge you 26 dollars every time a company without permission tries to charge your account. When you do try and get help they say they will send you a text confirmation number that never comes. Than admit weeks later the system was broke and they wasted a ton of your time. Pay your loan on the phone you get charged extra. They nickel and dime you with horrible customer service anymore. It would be negative sars if possible.Review from Tyler Z

Terrible Bank I had a bonus check that the company my company tried to deposit twice and they denied it. One of the tellers basically called me and our account secretary, a liar. They still deny that it was anything wrong on their end and I have proof that it was their end, the company had to end up sending me a paper check which put me out another 3 to 4 days and then I finally received it and try to mobile deposit it through my phone due to I am six hours away now from my local IH Bank and they would not up my limit another thousand dollars so I could put this check in and theyve done it before. I had to send a check back home and put me another three days out and wait for my parents to put it in my account This is NOT the only issue that Ive had with this bank before. Lets not forget the payout that they had to do a while back because of their thieving *****. The tellers, there are some good ones but theres some smart a** ones too that I really dont think should be working. I have told everybody that I know who banks here to pull their money out and say goodbye to this bank. They are a bunch of crooked thieves. Going on three weeks now from the initial put in for me to get my bonus and here I am three weeks later and still dont have my money. Thank you IH, Mississippi Valley credit union. They are sketchy as h*** about NSF fees, overdraft fees, money, disappearing Ive had issues too like I seen with others on here. My uncle is a lawyer in the Quad cities and hes had complaints to him. I looked at online bank account on May 16th and it said that I had 511.00 and they gave a NSF fee on the 17th. Now you can't tell me you can take 75.00 out of 511.00. They did the same thing today when I looked at the paper from their atm. I did a online debit on Friday which 9:30 am today said it was pending. So I deposited money in the account at 11am to prevent a NSF fee which came out when the debit tried to go through at 10:30am. Total crap. I thought they were supposed to send you a form in the mail to let you know you got charged that fee. My husband bank does it.Review from Keon G

Never have I ever dealt with a company that was so blatantly malicious. Since October of 2017, I have been making payments only for nothing to reflect on the loan. After nearly 5 years of payments the loan moved by approx. $700. I missed 3 payments after being unemployed and asked for some sort of financial assistance only to be turned down, during COVID nonetheless. They tell me they added CPI insurance onto my vehicle even though I've have full coverage on the vehicle prior to my unemployment and will remove it once I send them proof of insurance from the start of my vehicle ownership to current day. I did this, several times over the years only for nothing to come of it. And after my last call to IHMVCU being verbally mocked, hung up on several times, ignored and lied to, I cannot in all honesty recommend even my worst enemy to work with this company. This Credit union continues to decline, not only is it a place I no longer like to bank through but it’s also become a place where they treat their employees very poorly. They pick and choose the ones they like and the rest they push them to the side as if they’re a nobody, they have terminated many employees for very petty reasons. Management, Supervision and HR needs to be looked into on how they’re running things. On the bright side the employees they’ve let go have found much better jobs and are valued.Review from Jason H

This is the worst bank ever. The one on kimberly Road across the street from walmart. In davenport Iowa. They are thieves. I made a car payment early on the first of the month. The payment is not due till the 18th. I specified to the teller to hold the check because the car was going back to the dealership and they were going to buy out the loan. That I want that money back. I called her at 9 am on the first of October. They said it was from a number 563.xxx.6252 that is not even my number. I changed that number a LONG time ago. Again they were to change it. Which again didn't happen. They were to note my account. (Which they did not) the whole phone call was placed on speaker phone so that my husband could hear this also. The teller told us both that she could and would put the note on the account and not to add it to the loan. I called today. 17th of October. The check had already went through for the loan. That is theft. I only had the car 6 days. The payment was not due till the 18th. The 7th of the month the dealership bought out my loan. This is there screw up not mine. They claim that i called and talked to a gal named Amber. I did not. The bank manager refused to give me her name and her boss's number so that i could talk to her myself. (the gal under Amy) threatened me that if she refunds my payment that I would be liable for the rest of the loan. How? The loan was paid off. I do not have the car. The car is at the dealership. The keys have been turned over. She specified that ihmvcu has not released the title to the dealership yet. I'm not suppose to know that. That is confidentiality purposes w/ the dealership and the bank. I don't have anything to do with that. I want my money back. It is not my fault that the teller did not do what she told us she would do. It's not our fault that she did not follow through with what she said she would do. The member complaint from Karla ******* concerning loan payment application and staff communication has been reviewed.
According to our records, a check payment was mailed into the Credit Union and applied to Ms. *******’ loan on October 1st, 2022. A payoff request was then received on October 5th which reflected an accurate payoff balance (that included the October 1st payment). On October 13th, the Credit Union processed a payoff check and the title was released. There is no record of member contact documented to note that Ms. ******* wanted the Credit Union to hold on to the check. We agree that payment was made earlier than her due date, but as directed, it was applied to the loan therefore funds are accounted for. Management contacted Ms. ******* on October 18th to resolve the issue, but she was not available to talk.
We regret that Ms. ******* feels that she was not treated with the highest level of member service. Her complaint was investigated and does not warrant any type of inappropriate application or theft. If Ms. ******* has any additional questions or concerns, we encourage her to contact us at her convenience.Review from Jeremy N

The worst credit union Ive ever worked with!! **************** is horrible. I cant even log into my account Ive had with them for 3 years now! Cant seem to even get ahold of anyone, or try to reset my username/password.
