  Please see attachments (narrative, spreadsheets,contract, and receipts) for a detailed depiction of MI Construction's failures to complete a home remodel and extension. MI subcontracted the entire project to subs accepting the lowest fees and left most of the tasks uncompleted, damaged items in my house, and left partially completed addition without power, heating, plumbing, etc as detailed in the attached Narrative. MI has been paid ******* and interim payments for each sub-job per the attached spreadsheet. I have already paid this contractor $151K to date, and they are asking for additional $40K to complete the all the work, and I don't see where this amount is due or becoming due in my contract. Initially, when i was considering what work I could do in this remodel project, I asked MI for total price so that I knew how much funds to scrape together, they told me that all the work could be completed for less than $100K, and that they couldn't quote just one total price, that i would be getting estimates for each sub job. So initial estimate was verbal, but at no point did they tell me they could not keep that verbal promise. Non of the promises (verbal and written) for delivery were kept.

  I am rejecting this response because:

  In response to MI's reply, dated 4-22-2022 (received on May 3, 2022);  it's unclear who's medical issues he refers to, but subs had showed up randomly throughout the pandemic, and the spreadsheet showing all payments show that payments continued throughout the pandemic as well. I was never notified that any of the subs had covid.  His statement that he hasn't spoken to me in 2 years is incorrect (2 years ago the first contract hadn't even been signed yet).  

      I spoke to **** Meyers (owner's son) around one year ago, after ******************* supposedly left the company. At that time, **** said he doubted Brie's contracts were actually valid. Then about 2 weeks later he came to my house with existing plans and said he needed to purchase materials for the completion, and at this time asked for an additional $40,000. When I refused his request he patted my  shoulder and walked out- I haven't spoke to him  since. At no time did **** show me a written amendment to existing contract- that would have shown this $40,000 increase, nor did **** have a new contract showing what the additional money was for.

       Please see attached photos that show shoddy workmanship and a noncomplete status.  

       Regarding his statement that they will be in contact with me regarding this project, I haven't been contacted yet, and I refuse to deal with these scammers anymore. I would rather hire a competent contractor to fix this mess and complete the project, and have MI compensate me for all expenses to do so.
