i live at Victorian Apartments/Hawthorne Apartments/Onyx at ******** (not sure what name they legally go by) address: ****************************************************. on 12/14/22, it was raining heavily and my bedroom window started leaking getting water inside my bedroom getting my mattress-bedding-pillows-headboard-laptop (which was on night stand) soaked. i have pictures of my window leaking & water coming thru the gap in window and the wood window ledge that has cracks and wasn't sealed correctly. the wood window ledge got so wet, its soft and needs to be replaced. also, the ceiling at that time had one water spot, now there are 5 water spots, which i'm sure s***e the plywood is soaked due to all the rain we got that night, mold has started to grow. i called the properties 24-maintenance and he said he couldn't do anything and brought me a bucket. he (*** was his name) said due to my bedroom window not put properly, its going to leak (the window doesn't close securely, theres a gap between the window and the end of the window where its supposed to close).I called the office the next morning, spoke to ******* and ******* later that day only for them both to tell me there was nothing they could do at this time and didnt know when my window would get fixed. i emailed property mgmt - ********** and *** all mgmt on email *** ******* who is the property manager at my apartment complex. to date, i have received no response from ********** regarding my window and when it'll be fixed and reimbursement for my stuff that got damaged. Maintenance stopped by my apt and said they were going to drill a hole in my ceiling so that the drywall could dry out but said they were told to not fix my leaky window. i've reached out to code enforcement at the city of ********** several times (spoke to ****, inspector) and they have done nothing to enforce the property to fix my window.. he did say himelf that it was something that needed to be fixed asap. also said he hasn't had much luck with that property in the past when complaints have been made. i'm worried that as soon as it rains again or even snows hard enough, water will come the window again. not to mention all the cold air that comes thru due the gap. i moved in - in july 2022 and have 5 months left on my lease. i'm tempted to not pay rent until my window is fixed but then i don't want to risk getting evicted either. when i moved in, i noticed the side and back of my bldg (812 victoria *** where the roof and soffit meet, the roof is open-exposed and parts of the gutter are missing. this is on the right side and back of my bldg. i've reported this a long time ago to my property and code enforcement, and to date, it is still not fixed. can't imagine what damage that is doing considering the roof is open/exposed. probably why my bedroom ceiling is leaking and has water spots. are you able to help in this matter? i've attached some pics of my window leak. you'll see in the pics the water dripping off my blinds, on wood window ledge and water spots on ceiling. my carpet was soaked but can't really tell in the pic i took. i also have pics of the outside of my bldg where the roof, soffit and gutter is missing on the side and back of the bldg..
