I got an estimate from EZ Air to replace my furnace and Central air unit for $13,736.10 and because I was buying a combo meaning buying both the furnace and the central air unit at the same time and having it installed I would save 15% which would save me $2,059.67 And if I paid without financing it it would save me an additional 3% which would save me $411.50 That would knock my price down to $11,259.50 It was all scheduled to start the work soon as I gave him half the money I got a cashier's check from my bank first ************ for $6,000 When I called him and told him I had a cashiers check where could I drop it off at He told me he wanted cash cash then he proceeded to tell me that maybe I should go try somebody else because he did not want to take a cashier's checkBusiness response

1. The 15% discount has nothing to do with buying 2 pieces of equipment, it is for joining and being a member of the ********************* and is clearly stated on the proposal.
2. There was no mention of "pay without financing", he asked if there was a cash discount and was told 3%.
3. There was no work scheduled as there was no signed contract or deposit, work is not scheduled until we have at least a signed contract.
4. As the attached screenshot of text messages shows, he again was told if he wanted the 3% cash discount he needed to pay cash. He responds he would go to the bank the next day.
5. He was never told we didn't want to take a cashier's check, but if he paid that way there would be no cash discount.
The initial in person conversation on a cash discount was Wednesday 6/15. After 3 days of trying to make that clear and getting nowhere, we decided this sale may not be worth the trouble.
We have been in business 38 years with thousands of satisfied customers and are somewhat selective on adding new customers, sometimes we find it is better to walk away.
This man also came to my home after business hours on Friday 6/17 after he was told by phone he would be better off finding another contractor and confronted me in my driveway.
This reinforced our decision to pass on this sale.
