I had seen this company with a A+ rating from the BBB and thought will give them a try needed a plumber. Called said to whomever answered I am sending pictures to what the problem is so when they come out will have stuff with them. ******* arrived never shown pictures, looked at problem said I am part of the rodder crew can do that and others will come on Thursday to finish. Said that is why I sent pictures, then said he could go buy parts but will be over $800 of which I said thank you but not a chance, ridiculous price and why did I bother sending pictures. I owned my own business for over 35 years and believe everyone in business is there to make money but seriously over $800 to repair. So I am out the $50 service charge to have someone come and tell me what I knew was the problem and showed them, but didn't bring parts. It's not the money gas cost, trucks cost so that is not my problem it is that no one made sure the tech new what was needed and just sent knowing they would at least get $50. Sadly wouldn't suggest this company for anything which as a former business person I find sad. If I could give them no stars would be it wouldn't let me.Review from Craig G

This company is King of over promising and under delivering on their promises while over charging for service. On the same day they also cleared out our sewer line and gave us a 30 day warranty. 9 days later it clogged and they came out to say we needed a secondary clean out installed in the yard, the job quote was just under $8,000. We agreed and we're told Friday they would call **** and pull permits on Saturday June 22, 2024 the job would be completed. The plumber came out started to dig the hole and realized **** never came. Called them and they came out marked the yard and they continued to dig the hole. After the hole was completed said they'd be back Monday morning to complete the job and asked if they could leave the fence down to save them time for the backhoe. We agreed and set the appointment for Monday. Received a confirmation text for 8am-12pm. Monday 11am came and we received an appointment text that said they'd be in Tuesday.. My wife called and they said the confirmation text was for a call to set an appointment (complete BS). I called and they said someone would be there Monday by 6pm to complete the job. 6pm no show I called and they said someone was on site and they weren't. 6:30 someone showed up but they didn't have the tools to complete the job. They put on the fence and said I'd like to say Id be here tomorrow but that's up to dispatch. We get a text saying they'd be here Tuesday July 26th 2024 to complete the job. Understandable as we had storms on Monday. Now at 10am another text saying it's for Wednesday July 27th 2024 with no call just a text. Call to find out and no one can give me answer. The dispatch team is full of empty promises! They completed the job and 6 days later I had another back up. The cleared out the blockage and are now saying I need to spend more money to complete the repair to guarantee their work. Stay away if you value your wallet and don't want to deal with headachesReview from David O

J. Blanton solicited me with a seasonal special for hot water heater maintenance, and I set up an appointment for June 13th 12-4pm. That morning, they asked to reschedule for today, June 20th. They confirmed multiple times by phone email and text, using many mulitple numbers. They were supposed to call me when the technician was half an hour away.I received a text at 1:58pm saying the technician was on the way, and I replied immediately with "Ok good." At 3:34pm I texted again 'Hello?' and got no response. Then, I called the number listed in the text, the main ****** number, and the text number. They lied to me repeatedly, trying to blame me by saying they and the technician had called and he even waited. I have no phone logs of any calls they claim. They made me wait on hold forever, lied about answering my questions of who called and when at what number, having a manger speak with me, etc. It's completely unacceptable that J. Blanton 1) Used a bait-and-switch deal they had no intention of honoring 2) Sent spam alerts and advertisements but not a single promised phone call for the scheduled service 3) Made personal threats against me 4) Lied to me multiple times on the phone and made up blame based on no information. 5) They use over 10 different phone numbers with autodialers like all scammers, do not say anything for 10 seconds after answering, left no messages, and lie to customers. They are no different from any other scammers.Review from Jerry D

I called about an estimate to connect my new natural gas grill to an existing gas line on my deck. First, they wanted to charge a fee to look at the job and provide an estimate (fee was over $100). When I refused, they suddenly were willing to do it at no change. After the estimator showed up the next day, he provided me a quote of ~$800 to attach a grill connector hose to an existing gas line. The price was as much as the gril, and it was to simply screw-connect an existing hose to an existing pipe and ensure there were no leaks. No pipe install or structural modifications were needed. A complete rip off and a waste of my time and theirs for the estimate. Do not waste your time with this company.Review from Judy B

This company price gouges! After the simple replacement of a shower cartridge (which cost less than $120), I paid nearly $800 for 1/2 hour of service that had no unusual or unique circumstances. I discovered that other companies, with the same licensed and professional service, charge less than half of what I paid. I would not recommend J Blanton Plumbing, as their prices are not just high - they are outrageous!Review from Andi E

J Blanton has done terrible by us. We had a project in ******** for a new sewer. The job required a final inspection by the **************** for the job to be complete. I remember telling them that I didn't want to pay for the job in full because I was concerned that they would disappear. They eventually pushed and promised to address any issues after we paid in full. We have been calling twice a day for a week to get someone to show up for final inspection and no one has been available. I'm not sure if they are a scam but my experience has shown that.Review from Sarah K

On 9/19/2023 I called J. Blanton Plumbing: Appt for 9/21 from 12 - 4 pm time frame to get a quote for my kitchen sink. I was advised someone would call me 30 minutes before arrival. I received a call from **** on 9/21 @ 9:57am and I was confused since he called early. The conversation ended like he was doing me a favor by keeping my afternoon appointment. **** arrived around 1:30 pm. What we needed was to swap out the broken pipe and remount the sink. We asked if the unbroken pipes could be saved and **** said no. He said all pipes need to be replaced since they are old. The quote received from J. Blanton Plumbing is as follows: "Service to remove existing Undermount sink and clear, existing construction adhesive from Undermount of stone and sink itself. Resecure using existing clips and replace basket strainer and P-trap". KSU-115 "Remove end outlet waste or center outlet waste. Install a wye or double wye fitting with new basket strainers, p-traps and a clean out for future rodding. Does not include going into the wall to replace tee or 1/4 bend fittings." Very fancy description and I was quoted $1950.00. This is higher than the national average according to ******* My father is a retired Contractor and he was the one who did all the repairs for us in the past. He is currently going through cancer treatment, which is why I was looking for a company that I can establish a good business relationship with, however, my experience with J Blanton wasn't ethical. The price was outrageous when we fixed it for $72.15. My brother-in-law who has no experience in fixing kitchen sinks offered to help. Breakdown: 17m to unmount the sink/clean, 50m round trip from my place to *********** 1h25m to change the pipes and to mount the sink. Total time roughly 2.5h. We had tools and the only tool we needed to purchase was caulk gun which was $4.78. The total spent at Home Depo was $72.15. If someone without experience can fix this, it's unclear why the price is so high.Review from Ms. E

hmmm...on time, yes, professional...yes,however Overcharged...yes...***** business, yes...however, this project in the basement should have been worked from the outside in....hmmmm, instead, they want to decrease my square footage in the basement to avoid the real work that needs to be done to stop water from getting in, which should have been working from the outside lines to the inside...hmmm...willing to work with them to rite the wrongs....the concrete replaced in basement is totally different grade than the smooth existing concrete..sloppy...hmmm....Overcharged, Definately, but even this will not stop them from trying to get additional monies to decrease square footage in the basement by putting in some kind of "thing", which, well is simply not going to happen......should have really fixed THE REAL PROBLEM from OUTSIDE...IN...hmmmm....fix the issues from the core of the problem all the way through, you sure charged enough for that. Paid up front, pressured to give 5 star review off the bat.hmmm....highly suspect....willing to give this company the chance to rite the wrongs.....hmmm...until the, PROCEED WITH CAUTION...and alot of other companies assessement of situation, bids and overall projections, ESPECIALLY COSTS.....hmmmmm....will keep u posted if/when company is willing to rite the wrongs.....hmmmmReview from John N

I paid them to install a wax ring in my bathroom toilet. 2 years later, come to find out they didn't install a wax ring, but putty around the toilet. After 2 years of trying to chase down compensation for the damage they caused to not only my bathroom, but the tenants below, they've come back and stated the putty they installed is in fact a warranty, and out of warranty. They're completely unprofessional scammers, and I genuinely don't understand how they think they are allowed to operate in the city.Review from Jeff G

J Blanton is my go to source for my plumbing needs. This time, ***** came to save the day repairing the garbage disposal and repairing a potential problem with a clogged drain. He caught it before it got bad and remediated it quickly. The support I get from them far exceeds some of the past companies I have used. They continue to astound my with their customer satisfaction and dedication. Thank you once again J Blanton and *****!
