I purchased a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country from Autoplex of Mt. Vernon, Il a couple of months ago. Since then, I have had nothing but problems with it. It has needed a starter (because of oil leaking), it has had transmission coolant lines replaced, now it is not starting again. It leaks oil bad. Somehow, I feel the dealership knew of these problems prior to selling it to me. The vehicle had 109000 miles on it when we bought it. I have only put about 5000 on it myself. I put new tires on it when I bought it. So far, it has cost me over 800$ in repairs (not counting the tires, that's normal) I am not sure what is wrong this time, but know it probably won't be cheap.Business response

As Mr ****** stated he purchased a 2014 Chrysler van from us March 4th 2022. He came to the dealership a couple days before that looked at the vehicle, drove it and then came back and purchased it on the 4th. At anytime before his purchase he could have had the van inspected if he so chose to by any mechanic of his choice, he did not do so. In Illinois we are required to warranty any vehicle we sell that is less than 10 years old and less than 150000 miles for 15 days or 500 miles whichever comes first. We never heard anything from Mr. ****** in this time, in fact we have never heard a word about any mechanical issues with his van until we received this letter from the BBB. When Mr ****** purchased this vehicle he was offered a extended warranty and Mr ****** declined purchasing a warranty (Mr ****** can reference his bill of sale where he initialed by the bold highlighted all caps SOLD WITH NO WARRANTY) We have been in business since 2005 and repeat customers keep us going, I am absolutely appalled Mr ****** would say the dealership knew there was problems prior to him purchasing it, that statement is completely untrue. Had Mr ****** stopped by or called and brought the issue to our attention we would have tried to assist him in getting his problem resolved.
Thanks

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: He stated they had driven the vehicle 15000 miles since acquiring it. There is absolutely no way possible they didn't know about fluids leaking. The mechanic we took it too replaced the starter and the coolant lines going to the transmission. He stated it was 5 quarts low of fluid. It is possible whoever they took it to to have the oil changed cracked the filter housing. Its a common occurrence, but nevertheless, after having driven it this many miles (if they did) they would have known about fluid loss. We could not afford the $2000 cost of the added warranty.
Sincerely,
******* ******
